The Walking Sticks are BACK!!
We cannot figure out why on earth they always show up on the mailbox at the cottage...
But, lo and behold...went out yesterday and there they were!
The big surprise this year...
There were FOUR of them!!
We never, ever find them anywhere else EXCEPT on the mailbox.
It is the strangest thing!!
Now...
Aren't you glad I had my camera??
If you look real close...you can see that there are two...one on top of the other!
My mom has seen these before and says they are the only insects she actually likes because they are so weird.
ReplyDeleteI never saw them so close, thanks for the phtoos of a species we don't have here :O) bet they read your mail.... :o)
ReplyDeletethat is soooo cool!!... and weird!!... lol...

ReplyDeleteAmazing they're just in the one area. I've seen these, but very seldom.

Hi Jeanne, I think they are such interesting insects! I also love praying Mantis. Hope you have a great weekend.

Very cool! Maybe it's the type of wood on the mailbox that attracts them there?

Bell Fur Zoo Momma
How curious - we don't think we have ever seen those here. Maybe they are drawn to the black? Or maybe they are waiting to see if they won the sweepstakes or would that be sweepsticks?
ReplyDeleteWoos - Ciara and Lightning
They are really cool. I haven't seen any of them here in Massachusetts, but I did see a praying mantis in Vermont last week coming home from our family reunion.
ReplyDeleteThey are the strangest looking insects!
ReplyDeleteThey sure are odd looking bugs. It would be easy to think they were just sticks
ReplyDeleteSo cool. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOur dad loves it when they come to our house!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
I think they're an interesting insect, and they don't startle me as much as a praying mantis does. But we don't see many around here - Maybe we need to get a mailbox! :-)
ReplyDeleteThey are cool and creepy all at the same times!!! Pawsome! We don't gets them around here...bummer.
ReplyDeleteFABulous pics!!

Ruby ♥
