Even before the economy, I only received a handful of cards each year. Yes, I'm on for Christmas cards, but I will probably send more to my new blogging friends than to anyone else.Relyn Lawsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01389583730002062714noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8568397636794936636.post-22223965977179995662008-12-09T08:40:00.000-05:002008-12-09T08:40:00.000-05:00I am going to try and send cards. It's one of the few personal touches we have left in our impersonal society. Altho.....a dollar a card?? Ouch!! Send them to your very closest friends and family and send everyone else an e card!Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16687649363352766799noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8568397636794936636.post-57589397888051307052008-12-09T06:42:00.000-05:002008-12-09T06:42:00.000-05:00I belong to a Scottie forum called CyberScots. I have sut way back and I really miss the mail (sniff, sniff!) but there was so much energy involved in making my cards and getting them sent!

Now, I am basically sending cards just to close friends and family. Living out as we do, and with Mark and the kids here 24/7, it is hard to do "extras" like I used to!Katyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06558961417235143567noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8568397636794936636.post-55787283957529832002008-12-09T04:05:00.000-05:002008-12-09T04:05:00.000-05:00I moved into the City and on my own at 17 and that...I moved into the City and on my own at 17 and that same year I started sending out Christmas card. I haven't stopped since and plan to continue for a very long time. My goal is to start making handmade cards because they really do look so much nicer then store bought. Uh. But that would be next year because I already bought cards for this year.A Spot of Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09043375831501269374noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8568397636794936636.post-38839530619327597382008-12-09T00:34:00.000-05:002008-12-09T00:34:00.000-05:00I love the homemade careds like you make!!! I'm sending a photo Christmas card of the kids with a Christmas letter - that I have yet to write and I don't have my cards back yet - hopefully this week and will have them mailed by the weekend.

Take care and have a good week, Jeanne - see ya - KellanKellanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07882991320065439298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8568397636794936636.post-89328255099673768642008-12-08T21:41:00.000-05:002008-12-08T21:41:00.000-05:00well, I have been living away from home since I wa...well, I have been living away from home since I was 17, so holiday cards are a must.
Since I had the girls, we started sending photos with our holiday cards, and now we just do the holiday cards with embedded photos - in fact, we just got ours today! We ordered 40, but I also bought a box of generic cards for my friends (as opposed to family friends).

Ours also go to Europe, so I know what you mean when you talk about the price of postage!Elisa @ Globetrotting in Heelshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13920820564549246339noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8568397636794936636.post-39708546638763245622008-12-08T20:50:00.000-05:002008-12-08T20:50:00.000-05:00i plan on sending. We all created our own block print cards when we were young and then when I had T, the card was based around a creative photo of her. For the past few years I have used her photography for cards. Sometimes I don't feel people appreciate the work that goes in to making your own card but I find a lot of joy in doing it so that's all that matters. I have definitely cut back in the amount that I send out but I always feel proud about the ones I do mail. (It's sad, but I can probably count on one hand the number of cards I receive.)
haha by the way i mailed off your little gift last week. However, the vet is having a hard time giving me a picture of the stones and I'm tired of trying to explain to him why I need the picture in the first place. I do have a couple boxes of cards I got half off at the end of last year. I could conceivably just do those up, but I'm just not feeling like it since what I really want to do is the newsletter.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8568397636794936636.post-22701997585492815772008-12-08T09:52:00.000-05:002008-12-08T09:52:00.000-05:00I always love getting cards from people, some I do...I always love getting cards from people, some I don't hear from often other than the yearly card... and I especially love the ones that are hand made or designed.. craft type, photo type... anything that has a personal touch. I also make my own, and I know how much it means to me to recieve these type. It's a great way to reach out to each other, ESPECIALLY in difficult times. I think it's worth the extra money. - KarenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8568397636794936636.post-70650094939242165692008-12-08T09:39:00.000-05:002008-12-08T09:39:00.000-05:00i am definitely sending. i don't do it every year,...i am definitely sending. i don't do it every year, but that's the goal. there's just something warmer about receiving a tangible card signed by a dear friend. i just received one from my great-uncle in england, and it's just nice to see it each day to remind me of him. it's extra work and expense, but the recipient appreciates it.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00102174083595127629noreply@blogger.com
