Game Time Tips for Safe Super Bowl Events!

Petplan Insurance shared some very useful tips for pet parents planning on watching the Super Bowl!  There will be lots of parties and along with these parties, we need to be careful our pets aren't getting in to trouble while we are occupied watching the game!

~  Beer can cause fatal respiratory depression in animals.

~ Chicken wings can splinter and puncture the G.T. tract.

~ Onions in any form are poisonous to dogs.

~Toothpicks can cause severe or potentially fatal damage to G.I. tracts if swallowed.

~ Walnuts and macadamia nuts are especially toxic and can cause vomiting, paralysis, and death.

**Costs for pet parents can range from an average of $830 for treating onion toxicity to thousands of dollars for GI tract surgery.**

Keep pet-friendly treats handy so your pets can celebrate safely right along with you!!

  1. we always fear the next day after such a big event... the trash cans are filled to the brim and some careless people throw their trashbags on the street where the cats or the foxes open it over night... challenge to walk a dog the morning after ;O)

  3. Good information to know. I think when people celebrate things they tend to not think about the little details that could harm our fur babies

  4. Great reminders. I am always watching out for toothpicks getting dropped on the floor.

  5. Excellent tips....mom is kinda glad I'm a cat...she said their first pet Toto the mighty mini dachshund would eat anything and everything no matter. It it hit the floor you best not go for it 'cause he was quicker than greased lightning. Once he got to some BBQ chicken...and let's say he be came a tad more careful after that.
    Hugs madi your bfff
