I stopped by Wegmans and picked up a Patriots' Balloon. I got started on cooking and getting things ready fairly early on Sunday. Some of the recipes created much more of a MESS than I would have ever thought! I must think twice before using a recipe that uses melted marshmallow!!
Needless to say, I was so NOT impressed for the rest of my day.
I bit in to our first bite of dinner and...my bridge came out. The whole freakin' thing. Now, granted, it has been in my mouth for the past 34 YEARS and I figured it wouldn't last forever...but COME ON...not on Superbowl Sunday!!
I need to continue this post tomorrow...with the rest of the pics.
Today was spent running around to the Dentist and the Drugstore. I refused to let her pull my teeth without anesthesia...so I have a consult with a Oral Surgeon
oh no. Not a good day.
ReplyDeleteOMD! This is NOT a good thing.
ReplyDeleteOf all the days. :( I hope you can get it fixed quickly.
ReplyDeleteOMD! Dat stinks!
ReplyDeleteoh nooo... bridges are often the bridges over troubled water aka troubled dentist bills... potp and crossed paws for a good solution what stay with you for much longer than till the next superbowl...
ReplyDeleteHI Jeannie, I have an almost identical bridge-but have only had it for 10 years. I didn't know they could come out. You poor thing. You are right to go to an oral surgeon.
ReplyDeleteHope you and the pups are doing o.k. other than that. I wondered if you give your pups Probiotics or enzymes-Katie Wyatt does and it made me think I should get some for Hunter. Sending big hugs your way.
Noren
That's the worst. Once I started eating a caramel "apple" lollipop from the kids' Halloween stash, and yanked out the crowns on my two front teeth. Good luck and hope you are soon 100% again :)
ReplyDeleteOh Jeanne, I feel for you because I had the same thing happen to me several years ago. And not only with a bridge, but also old crowns . Like you, a lot of my dental work was down years and years ago, so I realize they won't last forever, but it's still a pain in the neck when it happens; especially at inconvenient times.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you'll get this all worked out soon. The best to you, my friend!

HOLY CRAP! Oh man, that is like Ma's worst NIGHTMARE!!!! She won't gets any work done without the gas, and if the big stuff is involved DEFINITELY knock her out! Luckily, my dentist has all that stuff on site for the scaredy cats like her! Luckily, now they have lots of options for replacements! Butts, this story still gives Ma the willies! ☺ I'll be thinkin' abouts you! {{{hugs}}}
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
Whoa Nelly! That's not good! Hope it's all fixed soon!
ReplyDeleteOMD....what a crappy way to spend any day!
ReplyDeleteOh No I'm so very sorry to see/read this. Wow. 34 years is a long time but dang..... on a Sunday and a day you had big plans. A year ago this past November my dentist found a cavity starting on one of the anchor teeth for my bridge. It was probably 20+ years and in good shape but they had to drill and cut it out of my mouth, repair the cavity and then make a new bridge. I coulda bought a nice used car for the price of the bridge....I hope by now you have a working mouth.
ReplyDeletehugs madi's mom
What bad timing! We hope you are all fixed up now!
ReplyDeleteKeep Calm & Bark On!

Hi Noreen! I just happened to be reading through some old posts and didn't see this til now. Oh what a time I had with that bridge. I ended up having two extractions and a bone graft. Now I am looking at two implants and a sinus lift. I could purchase two used cars for the price! I just haven't decided what I am going to do yet...I need to let my mouth heal for a little while before I decide. I give my pups yogurt every day...they get a couple tablespoons every day at lunch. They like it! Hope things are well with you and Hunter! xo
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy! I appreciate your popping in to comment...and I apologize for not answering this sooner. I am a bit behind. I ended up having two extractions and a bone graft. Now I am looking at two implants and a sinus lift. I could purchase two used cars for the price! I just haven't decided what I am going to do yet...I need to let my mouth heal for a little while before I decide. It is a BIG decision.
ReplyDeleteYes...bridges over troubled water for sure!! It is costing an arm and a leg...roughly five thousand bucks for this! I haven't made any final decisions on what I am going to do yet. I have to let my mouth and gums heal...after having two extractions and a bone graft. Not looking forward to the rest of the work. I wish these things could be permanent!! It seems the only permanent solution would be to get dentures. I don't really want to go that route...it is quite worrisome!
ReplyDeleteNope. Not a good day at ALL! Sorry I didn't get to answer this earlier...I am still behind! I ended up having two extractions and a bone graft. I am letting my gums heal for now and have to make some major decisions on what I am going to do...I am not a fan of implants because they can fail...and if I am spending five grand on the work...it would all be for nothing! It is rather frustrating. The only permanent solution they can offer me is full dentures...and I am not sure I want to go that route. I don't even know anybody who has them right now. Perhaps I should take a poll on the blog and see if anybody out there has them...and see what there thoughts are! It is a very definite problem right now.
ReplyDeleteYeah...Ann...this whole dental thing has me quite worried. One needs to take on a part time job just to pay for dental bills. My latest treatment plan has been quoted at five thousand bucks. And that is only a temporary solution. It is extremely frustrating!!
