White House Dog?
Watch CBS Videos Online
video courtesy CBS news
I do not think that the Bichon is a good choice for the White House Dog....I think the Obamas would show a great example if they adopted a shelter dog....lord knows there are soooooo very many good dogs out there in shelters just waiting for good homes. It will be interesting to see what they pick. Bichons, in particular, are way too people oriented to be a good choice for the Obamas. In my opinion! But This is a really cute video!

When he was on TV yesterday, one of the reporters asked him about which breed of dog they might choose. He told her they wanted a shelter dog, but one of his daughters is allergic, so they must choose a breed that won't cause her allergies to act up, "not a mixed breed like me". (his words)
I love those Bichons! It is going to be interesting to see what kind of dog they choose.
Have a good weekend - Kellan
Not sure there would be a hypoallergenic dog at the shelter, but was impressed that he did mention it...saying, "...there would probably be only mutts there like him."
I'm with you, but the allergy problem is an issue with Obama's kid....
I think they should adopt a shelter dog too and Lhasa Apsos are good for people with allergies but not necessarily with kids. Now Tristan can do anything he wants to his Lhasa but they have been growing up together. . .
Aw, that is a cute video! We have enjoyed the "Barney and Miss Beazley" videos that the White House has put out and we will miss the Scotties, but that is how it goes!
The Bichons are so cute! Their little faces are so full of expression!
Cute dogs! Fun post sweetie!hughugs
I hope they can find the right dog for them. It doesn't sound like they are rushing into anything and I always like to hear that. We had to make the same decision with two of our kids suffering with allergies...which they have now grown out of. So who knows. Mushu was a great pick for us and maybe the new President too!!!
I read today they were giving a dog by Peru. Some kind of hairless toothless thing. I guess we will see how that goes.
