And So ... The Road Trip is Temporarily on Hold

We are currently stationed in Prior Lake, Minnesota for an unknown period of time. My husband has experienced the "worst case of peripheral vertigo" that the Emergency Dept. physician has ever seen in all his years of practice.

We do not know exactly WHY this occurred, but dealing with it is sheer hell. He cannot move off of the bed. If he tries to just move his head...he is nauseous. Yesterday he was just sick...so sick that he was opening the door of the RV and getting sick at intersections.

Please send prayers, karma...whatever you can. Hopefully this too shall pass.

OH Goodness. I am so sorry to hear that. I know someone with virtigo and it's so hard to deal with some days. Sending your husband good vibes, good karma and wishes for a speedy recovery. Sending you the same as well.

OH Jeanne - how awful for you both... I can tell you of another case of the same thing that a friend of mine in her 40's experienced... it lasted a week, and then was completely gone. It's been years with no recurrence. Go figure. Thinking of you....

Jeanne, my prayers are with you. Hang in there and let's hope that the vertigo disappears as quickly as it showed up. I know how stressful it is and yes, stress aggravates it, so tell him to relax.

So sorry to hear this, Jeanne. Prayers to your hubby that this goes away as suddenly and mysteriously as it came on and never comes back again! Thank goodness he was able to get to a doctor and you really weren't out in the boondocks, you know? Hugs ...

Rest and take time for hubby to feel better. Poor fellow. I pray this passes soon and he will be feeling better! In the meantime, I hope you can relax and not get stressed!

What is he taking for it? Did they try - prochlorperazine on him?

It was the only thing that worked for me.

Have just googled vertigo drugs and come up with tons of explanations. Might help to look there too.

Thinking of you both.

My aunt had that -- She is 88, though.

I can't remember what they did to help her get over it.
