Today, I am sharing our friend Jackpot's favorite meal! His mom loves to cook for him!
Jackpot's Beef and Pasta
1 box whole wheat shells
5 cups water
1 lb coarse ground chuck
1 16 oz can whole tomatoes
8 ounces cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon "Better than Bouillon" beef flavor
Add the broth and water to a big pot and bring to a boil. Add the pasta, turn heat to simmer and cover. Simmer for 45 minutes. Pull beef into chunks and add to hot pasta. Stir well, cover and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Uncover, stir, beef will be done. Stir in the Better than Bouillon." Then, drain the whole thing in a colander. Just drain, do not rinse in water.
Put beef and pasta back into hot pot. Stir in the cheese, I crumbled the cheese for this, but you can shred it. Drain the tomatoes. Break them up into pieces and add them to the beef and pasta.
Cool before serving.
Optional: sprinkle dehydrated kale on top before serving. I make this with the dehydrator.
Yield 7 cups
Keeps in fridge 3 days.
Keeps in freezer 3 months.

O hai! That sounds a lot like our supper last night! And I almost always give the leftovers to our dogs. They eat fancy all week long. But maybe we'll try this!

If I made that here, the dogs would have to fight the humans for it. I could make a double batch and feed everyone. I just won't let the other humans know they are eating dog food :)
This sounds like such a great meal. I just bought Hunter some ground turkey that I'll cook up tonight. Thanks for sharing!
Hugs, Noreen
