It is always a bit sad to get the RV ready to be put away for the winter. It takes us about five hours total to get it all covered up. We used to store it inside in a temperature controlled building...but at $130 per month...we have stopped storing it there. So, we now park it in the yard but it requires a LOT more work on our part to do that. It must be protected from the wind, yet accessible for us to get it out...in March...which is usually when there is a ton of snow back there!!

The girls were supposed to be just hanging out with us in the backyard while we were putting the tyvek cover on. Well...Miss LadyBug decided that she would get her kicks by ROLLING in deer poop. It was AWFUL. Talk about Mischief. She had to stay in her crate until we finished getting the cover on. Then she had to have a bath. Not fun. For either of us.

For part of the time, I put them in their "playpen" which is actually Ben's utility trailer...it was when I let them out that the mischief happened.

Just about three more hours of work today and we should be done...hopefully!!

Good work on the deer poo. We find smelly stuff now and then. Most of the time, Mom has no clue what it is and doesn't really care because it just stinks!
ReplyDeleteWay to go!!!! That's the best kind of mischief to roll in! BOL!
ReplyDeleteBOL bet she was not poopular. Have a marvellous Monday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Oh, deer poop! I have never had the opportunity to roll in that stuff but I hear it is divine! How sad to cover up the RV for the winter. It will be missed until its next "unveiling".
ReplyDeleteOhhh, sad times for sure.
ReplyDeleteJeanne, it was so interesting to read about the process of covering up your RV for the winter. And that is some BIG RV. it looks like a HOME!
ReplyDelete"Well...Miss LadyBug decided that she would get her kicks by ROLLING in deer poop. It was AWFUL. Talk about Mischief."
OMG, I bet that wasn't fun at all. I often wondered why dogs do that?
Great shot of the girlz in their playpen. They are SO cute!
Happy Monday, friend!
X to you and the girlz!
Go Ladybug!! What pawesome mischief!!!
ReplyDeleteSmileys!
Dory, Arty, Bilbo & Jakey
PeeEss...tell your Mama not to work too hard!
It looks all nice and comfy to hibernate for the winter
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
Now that's an RV! And ooh Ladybug when will you learn :)
ReplyDeleteNothing like a good roll in deer poo. Unless it's bear poo. That's even stinkier.
ReplyDeleteWags (and purrs) from Life with Dogs and Cats.
Laughing at the playpen pictures! (And don't envy you with all that deer poop smell)
ReplyDeleteDeer poo is the best Miss Ladybug! Love Dolly
ReplyDeleteooooohh noooooo
ReplyDeleteyou aren't allowed to go as poop for halloween. What fun would it be not to be allowed in the house?? LeeAnna and Cole at not afraid of color
oh no. I'm sure LadyBug thought it was a good idea at the time and she probably did have fun but I don't envy you having to clean her up
ReplyDeleteIt was probably a lot of fun for you LadyBug! Too bad your mom had to go spoiling your fun with a bath!
ReplyDeleteBummer about the bath, LadyBug! What a huge job!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
Ew! That is stinky!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great looking camper you've got there! Deer poop? Yuck.... What is it with dogs rolling around in poop? I just don't get it. Sorry you had to do a bath on top of getting the camper ready for winter. You're a good mom!
ReplyDeleteDeer poop...not fun!!Hahaaaa
ReplyDeletehughugs
Actually, it doesn't matter what kind of poop it is...she just likes to roll in it...YUCK!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Cathy! I cannot stand it when she rolls...but she does...in anything that smells! She has done it ever since we got her and we haven't figured out a way to stop her! Do you have a blog Cathy? Thank you so much for stopping by!!
ReplyDeleteYou cannot even imagine! It was SO awful!!! The things we do for love...
ReplyDeleteBoth of them hate baths...with a passion. They run when I mention the word! You would think she would stop rolling...she knows it means a bath!! Yeah, covering the RV is a big job...but it is worth it seeing as it is so much cheaper than storing it where we used to take it.
ReplyDeleteIt is always fun for her! I just cannot get her to stop!! She knows it means a bath, but does it anyway! Sheesh!!
ReplyDeleteLadyBug will roll in ANYTHING that smells...I really have to watch her around dead fish at the lake. I don't know why she does it...and no matter what we try, she won't stop! Cleaning her up is NOT fun...
ReplyDeleteNo matter what we try we cannot get her to stop rolling!! She waits until I turn my head and then she does it! We have tried everything we can think of to make her stop. Nothing has worked so far. Cleaning her up is so NOT fun!! Thanks for stopping by!!
ReplyDeleteGeez...thanks Dolly! Can I ship her there to be cleaned off next time?? Ha!
ReplyDeleteThe playpen actually works out well as it keeps them contained if we are working on something in the yard that requires our attention...as soon as I take my eyes off of her...she rolls!! Oh...that smell...AWFUL!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that bit of info!! I sure hope we don't have any bears around here!! She will roll in kitty poop too...we have five that live next door!! We really have to keep our eyes on her!! Thanks for popping by today!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! We love the RV! LadyBug will never learn...about the rolling...she just doesn't seem to mind being punished...and by punished I mean...going in the crate. She just will not learn! She must REALLY enjoy it!! Yuck!
ReplyDeleteOh thanks Dory...just what we need...encouragement for rolling...NOT!! We are so glad that covering the RV is done for now!! It is much more fun UNcovering it before we travel!!
ReplyDeleteWell...Ron...it is not as big as some of them on the road! Ours is only 32 feet...and some of the bigger ones go up to 45 feet. Ben does not want one any larger and really this one has plenty of space for us! I, too, have always wondered why dogs like to roll in poop. It is sooooooo awful. It smells to high heaven. Fortunately, it is easier to get it out of her fur when she has just been groomed as her fur is so much shorter! Happy Day to you!! xo
ReplyDeleteOh Mary...it is not fun at all when she rolls in stuff. Chloe doesn't do it, but LadyBug makes a habit of it! Yuck!
ReplyDeleteIndeed...if one would ask LadyBug...she thinks rolling in poop is the BEST! It is like a hobby to her! Yes, it is sad to cover it up...mostly because we don't look forward to five months of ice, snow, and frigid temps! But, we are so happy to "unveil" when we get to travel in the spring! Have a great day Oz!
ReplyDeleteNo, Molly....she was not popular!! She was in big trouble!! But, it doesn't matter how much we yell....or tell her not to do it...she does it anyway. I think it is in her DNA! Happy Day to you!!
ReplyDeleteOh thanks Miley....just what we need...encouragement! I swear if I look the other way for one second, she is rolling in SOMETHING! It is funny if you don't have to clean it up! :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Emma! LadyBug will roll in anything that smells...doesn't matter what. I just wish I could find a way to make her stop!! Cleaning her up is the worst! Oh, the smell!!
ReplyDeleteHarley seems to be a seasonal "roller" Springtime is the worse. At first I thought he was insane. But thanks to other bloggers - I quickly read several times about the same thing and realized he was normal (if we can call it that!). Yes, I have a blog www.groovygoldendoodles.com Stop by and have some fun. Take care
