Just Good For The Soul

As most of you know...I just recently took delivery of my new scooter!  Today was the first day that I went out on my regular ride!

It is just soul soothing for me to ride along these wide open spaces...and ponder the meaning of life.

Or sometimes...just BREATHE.

It is so relaxing...no one to bother me...just me communing with nature.  It is hard to explain, but it really makes me feel relaxed!

As you can see, there is not a lot of activity!  Except for the occasional deer, mink, skunk, or turkey!

And Geese.  There are Geese...and swallows.  Sometimes bats!

This is one of my favorite spots!  I just love this little beach area!!

I didn't get to ride through these areas last year as I didn't have a functioning scooter...and I was so surprised to find out how much building has taken place in that short amount of time.

The water is very high around here.  I'm afraid if it doesn't stop raining, there will be NO corn!  It is very yellow...and that means it could start to rot.

It was kind of funny...I came around a corner and there...right smack in the middle of the road...was a SUPER-SIZED Bassett Hound!  This guy was about three times the size of Bentley of Barking from the Bayou.  I wasn't quite sure what to do so I just talked to him...said hello...and hit the gas!!  Fortunately, he wasn't going to get up too fast!! Ha!!

The girls were NOT happy with me when I got home as I had gone without them AGAIN.  If only I could figure out how to take them...perhaps a side car??

So, they were very happy when I took them down to the dock to poke around and see what was up!

Hope you enjoyed "riding along" with me today.

It sure did my soul good!!

Happy Thursday!!

  1. I like to ride on a scooter it's a nice piece of freedom :o) I hope the rain will disappear, it's sad when we see the damages of the weather on our fields...

  10. These photos are so lovely Jeanne! Looks like you had a really serene, beautiful ride, even if it was without the pups. Maybe you can retro-fit the scooter with a big basket?

  17. Thanks so much Catherine!! We have been trying to figure out a way to retrofit SOMETHING that the girls could ride in...but we haven't come up with anything yet. LadyBug would probably do pretty well...but Chloe wouldn't like it...I think it goes a bit too fast for her!

  20. Ha!! We are positive that you will find out what a Basset Hound is pretty quickly!! You would know one if it was smack dab right in front of you in the road!! Take it easy Ziggy and hope you and your mom have a wonderful weekend!!

  21. He was a pretty SILLY Basset! I would really like to take the girls with me, but I think LadyBug would enjoy it a lot more than Chloe. It goes a bit too fast for her! Chloe is a homebody...even if we take the stroller or take a walk...she doesn't go far when she wants to turn around! Happy Friday to you guys!!

  22. That's a thought...maybe he was lying in the middle of the road just waiting for someone to give him a hug!! BOL!! I do love exploring on my scooter...there's always something for me to look at! The sidecar might be a bit hard to find for this particular scooter model...so I think the girls will have to get used to me going by myself for awhile. Happy Friday!!

  25. Absolutely Mark! I love riding around on my scooter! It didn't rain too much today, but we are expecting quite a bit of rain over the weekend. It IS sad when the crops get damaged. I am much more sensitive to it now. Our new neighbor is a farmer and he keeps me updated on such things!! I have learned a lot from him already! Enjoy your weekend!!
