I'm trying to be positive here people!! My daughter was here for our weekly visit when we had a freakin blizzard...and I mean a blizzard!! Stuck in the driveway, freezin our a** off, swearing up a storm, honest-to-goodness blizzard!! Well, Meish decided she was going to try to drive home as she had to work early the next day. I tried and tried to convince her NOT to leave. As any mom knows, it is an awful feeling...when you know that your kids are out driving in treacherous weather...especially since she's only been driving in it for about four years. Anyway, she left. I'm a nervous freakin' wreck! About 20 minutes go by and voila! She's back in the driveway!! I'm doin my Happy Dance!!! WAHOOOOOOOOO!!! She's going to stay overnight!!! YAY!!! Pajama Party!!! So we don't even CARE what it is doing outside....we go inside and brew up some of this:
Favorite Hot Cocoa:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup hot water
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 cups milk
1/8 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix it all up together in my Mr. Coffee CocoMotion and ENJOY!!!!!
So....instead of my going absolutely crazy with worry....we spent the night laughing and talking and looking at old photos....it was a GREAT night full of memories!!

Aww how lovely! I know my mom would totally be up for an all night pajama party. If it were upto her, I'd never leave the house!
Stay warm & safe! At least you'll have a white Christmas!
I should have a pyjama party with my mom. Oh wait...she's dead. Better make that a zombie party then.
ah, willowtree.
ANyway....bermuda....i know how treacherous driving in the snow can be, and i know what it's like to worry. i'm glad she came back. and your evening sounds really sweet.
Oh, how fun. What a great way for the evening to turn and the hot chocolate looks awesome. I love the new look of your blog. I always have a hard time with the white writing on black so love it when people change, and besides, I love that colour.
The only thing I like better than cocoa on an evening like that is hot spiced cider.
Glad everyone is safe.
Good for you, good for her! That drink sounds fab!
Thanks for sharing the drinks. I really miss snow. It reminds me of my old home in Syracuse.
Glad she came back and is safe. I'll have to try that cocoa. My sons love the cocoamotion we got them last winter. One son keeps it going all winter long. :)
Glad you got to spend some quality time with your daughter.
I've spent a quite a bit of time driving in blizzards so they don't really bother me that much. Dawn has also driven in a number of blizzards too. We always seem to make it home. But, we are the type that don't care what the roads are like...we just go and be as careful as possible.
Sounds like a wonderful.
Got together with my daughter Friday after a whole year.
Wished it had snowed so she could have stayed longer.
Sending bloglove,
Frances
Hey, I tagged you - you're it. :)
Glad she didn't risk it.
While you're over there sipping on hot cocoa and looking out at the snow we're sweltering over here in a heatwave. It was 37C (98.6F) yesterday in the shade at my place. I could use some of your snow!
What a nice evening and it's good that she decided not to brave the elements. Glad ya'll had such a great time!
I bet that was a wonderful night, sometimes the weather can be a blessing in disguise.
WOO HOO! Talk about a bad night gone good! Sounds like such fun!
I wish I would have seen this on the day it was posted because I know EXACTLY how you feel when it comes to daughter's driving in bad weather. You try not to worry but it would be the same as saying 'don't breathe.' Impossible. Glad she came back and you got to spend the night together :o)
