Lunch was ABSOLUTELY Terrific!!!

Yeah. I know. The picture sucks. The waitress did not have a clue as to how to operate a camera...much less serve food...but that's another story! **You actually have to click on the photo to make it bigger to view it....because of the template...it's a little bit marbled....I need to change it!!**

We had such a terrific time reconnecting after so many years apart. We happen to have one of those relationships that can pick up whenever, wherever we left off!! And, I am so very grateful for that. We covered a WHOLE bunch of ground...like 20 years in one lunch. Of course, we did the short version and it will have to be extended into several lunches, or dinners, or WEEKENDS!! But, we wanted to get together before we take her mom out with us. My ex mother in law is one of my oldest and dearest friends. She has been diagnosed with Alzheimers. I haven't seen her in a very long time. We speak on the phone and have kept up with each other over the years through Christmas cards and birthday cards and occasional phone conversations. I'm looking forward to spending some time with her before she forgets who I am. Alzheimers is a terrible disease. My mom passed away a couple of years ago from this devastating disease, but she suffered terribly for the last few years of her life. She had absolutely no idea who I was. I'm going to spend some quality time with my former mother in law before she gets any worse. It's very, very important to have some happy times!! Some happy times to remember through the dark days. She doesn't have much going on in her life anymore and I know how much she will appreciate just a lunch out with her girls!

I'll give you an update when we do that!! It was so uplifting to share a couple of hours with someone who I have missed so very much!!!

How wonderful the lunch went so well and you will be doing it again. It is too bad about your ex-MIL's illness, and I am sorry for the loss of your mom to the same thing. I hope you have a great lunch with you ex-MIL. The break of families is so sad as it affects more than the two people who split. It is wonderful you can have such great relationships with the ex-in-laws.

I'm glad you had such a nice visit. :) I hope you have many more.

Alz... is such a horrible disease. We lost my grandmother, two years but I don't think she knew who I was for quite a few years.

Reconnecting with old friends is so sweet and you two look like a couple of school girls with your big smiles! Can't wait to hear about more wonderful lunches.
