My Friend, Mr. Fox
We've decided Mr. Fox was probably abandoned by the rest of his "pack". It appears that he is alone all the time. He is never with any others. And he really wants to play with Zippo. Maybe he thinks Zippo is his Dad?
He doesn't seem unfriendly AT ALL. Doesn't lunge toward me or the dogs or my husband. But, the girls have to stay inside for now...unless they are on very short leashes!
Mr. Fox came out at lunchtime today to survey things. He is not showing any signs of foaming at the mouth, or sickness, or anything. He just seems kind of lost and lonely. When he finds one of the dogs "chews" out on the lawn, he grabs it and runs! Pounces and throws it up in the air!! I sort of feel sorry for him.

Well Jeanne, you are in the company of one funny little fox! I looked up online to see if foxes are nocturnal and found a nice writeup from the humane society:

Your little friend does appear very healthy. I have seen some foxes that looked so grungy and unkempt that they must have been ill.
If the poor fox has indeed lost his or her pack, it probably smells the scent of your furkids and might be looking to "connect"! That is just so amazing!
I've always wanted a fox for a pet, I know it's not possible (or legal), but I'd still like one.
What a beautiful fox!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and reassuring me that I'm not crazy for staying up all night with Chica (aka Ka-Ching!), the Bichon.
He's so adorable. I could totally adopt him!
As long as he isn't sick, I think it's great that you've found such a foxy friend! He sure is beautiful.
Aw, he's really sweet. Well, for a fox. ;)
Hey, is that your bike in the background??
I feel sorry for him too - poor thing. What was that Disney movie with the little fox - the Fox and the Hound - Alexis loved that movie. I can't wait to hear what happens - if he stays around and becomes your friend or what - how interesting.
Have a good weekend, Jeanne - see you soon - Kellan
He's cute alright - but I'd still be worrying about my pets.
Slowly - slowly...
They are so cute. Too bad they are not always the best to have around. I hope he finds his friends.
He is just so sweet! I hope he wanders on for you but how neat you've been able to get some fun shots of him. :)
