Dr. Visit and Dog Treats

Now that's a weird combination isn't it?? I probably should have broken this in to two different posts...but anyway...

As expected, the visit to the Dr. was somewhat uneventful. Yes, it is yet another staph infection. One of the lesions was lanced, cultures taken...antibiotics and a referral to a Dermatologist.

When I called the Dermatologist, he is at a conference with ALL of the Derms from across the country and won't be returning til after we've gone on our trip.

Just my luck.

Hopefully, the drugs will kick in and the infection will not spread.

And...

Here's a good recipe for our fur-kids!

TUNA TRAINING TREATS

This is a great healthy recipe for your dog for anytime!

2 6oz cans of tuna in water (Do not drain)
2 eggs
1-1.5 cups of rice flour
1 Tbsp garlic powder
Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mash tuna and water in a bowl with a fork to get clumps out, then liquify in a blender or food processor. Add extra drops of water if needed to liquify completely. Pour into a bowl and add eggs, rice flour and garlic powder. The consistency should be like cake mix. Spread into greased 8x8 or 9x9 pan. Sprinkle with lots of parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. The edges should pull away from the sides of the pan and the texture should be like putty. Let cool for 15 minutes and then use a pizza cutter to cut into small squares. Freeze these treats and your dog will love them!

Oh no! I sure hope the antibiotics kick in and make you heal soon.

You have some lucky puppies, that almost sounds good enough for a human treat. :-)

Hope your medication works fast - aren't you getting ready for a vacation soon????

And the treats sound so good, I think I'd like to eat them! I haven't given Chloe tuna yet ... hmmmmm.

I'm glad they biopsied it. With MSRA and other drug resistant bacterias being so wide-spread now, that's so important. I pray that they get this taken care of for you once and for all!

Aw, take care of yourself. Hope the meds do their thing for you!

I used to cook and bake for my boys all the time, but got so busy, I quit. They love homemade goodies, just like the kids!

Feel better soon!
