Outside The Window

Chloe spotted something rather interesting outside the cottage window this weekend! Mr. Squirrel was working VERY hard at stripping the bark off the cedar tree in very long strips and carrying it up to his nest. Up and down the tree he went a zillion times. Chloe was absolutely fascinated for hours!! It was really hard to believe that this squirrel could fit so much bark in his mouth!!! And he scampered back and forth and back and forth just stuffing that nest. Wonder if that means we are in for a hard winter. Doesn't it seem early for them to be squirreling things away??

LOL - this reminds me of the dog in "Up", that will get totally distracted and stop whatever he's doing every time he sees a "Squirrel!!" LOL

Chloe, I know that rat with a tail! He has been here many times! JD and Wendy have chased him a a tree! I am just going to play coy and then pounce on him. You know... lull him in a false sense of safety.

I can see why Chloe was fascinated - I'd be, too. Very interesting. And that's one hard-workin' squirrel.

It's TV for dogs!

Don't think it's early - well not hear anyway. Not with our summer. They could have been stuffing all summer here since we never had one.

Still - Chloe looks happy! Like Karen's comment! Too true!

He/she's building their nest and making ready for winter. He'll have a fragrant nest this year for sure!

Nothing entertains a dog inside like a critter outside. Okay, maybe if the critter is INSIDE. ;)

Oh my...that is so cute! Angus would have been THROUGH the window, whereas Mr. Murphy could care less.

Not sure about the squirrel. Ours are always so busy, I don't pay attention to them anymore!

Big hugs to Chloe!

our big old (late) rotty loved to chase squirrels. I doubt that he ever caught one. He never chased cats or other dogs.

just squirrels.
