Renting....Dogs????

It's true. You can actually rent a dog! Who knew??

I read alot.

Tons of different pages...

So, I happened to be perusing a "green" website....discussing reusing things...recycling...

things you can rent...

but a dog????

Seriously??? I must have read it wrong....

Nope. You can! In some cities...

Check it out!!

I don't get it. My dog is my dog is my dog, you know what I mean? It's like a throw-away spouse!! Well, there's that too, isn't there...lol...

That is totally SICK! I would never, never, NEVER imagine putting my little fellows into anyone else's hands! Gads! Next, they will be renting kids, wives, families....

Gorgeous photo of your baby. Those eyes are so beautiful and SO trusting!!!!!

Goes along with this society's "commodity" life style.... NOT for me. My rental fees would be extravagant. 24/7/365.....

Hmmm... interesting concept...

How funny, that would be the perfect compromise for us since I keep telling my kids that it isn't fair to have a dog in a city flat.

This is too weird..
just this morning
I was thinking that when something
happens to Teas-e it would be nice to 'rent' a pup for weekends at home.. strange but true.

So are we channeling thoughts now ??

I know there are bed n breakfasts and such that you can sleep with the cat.
But, somehow I think the dog would get confused. Maybe I'm giving dogs more credit -- but I know my dog loved "ME" and I was special.

How about that? I wouldn't do it ... and not sure I understand why it's done. Learn something new every day!

Maybe those pet renter agencies should be outlawed. It could be bad for a pet to go from home to home and not have a stable lifestyle.

Seems there's a market for it. Go figure!?

I've heard of trial critters before, seems like a neat idea to try things out before committing to long term care - maybe it could help with the ones who get thrown away.

done with caution (can't always trust 2-leggeds) makes a lot of sense. IF and only if shelter dogs are part of the calculation. There's a level of risk involved, but for sweet dogs that have run out of time, it beats the alternatives.

From the humans perspective, it might just turn some into pet owners if they have time to experience being with a 4-legged. Plus great health benefits in the walking!

The shelter in SF uses all volunteers for the walkers, and if you're eyeing a special someone they are eager to get out a leash (and a form to fill out) and send you out to explore being with each other. Like a first date.
