We Thought We Were JUST Going to Vote!
We had planned to leave the house for the two second ride to the church where we vote. That went as planned and we only had a couple of people in front of us. Except I put my ballot in the scanner upside down...but we won't go there!! Anyway, all was fixed by the time we left!
Then, we decided since it was mid afternoon, we would stop at Tim Horton's for a coffee and donut before heading home. So, we ordered and I sat down at a nice table for two with a nice view of our local convenience store. We are sitting there drinking our coffee and enjoying our donut...when
lo and behold...this guy just DRIVES right IN TO the Convenience Store!! Just took out the ATM and everything! So...
We waited and more and more people started showing up and we were trying to figure out what had happened. We waited about an hour! Had some interesting conversations with the folks who joined us!!
Turns out that an old man accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake and just blasted right through the doors and glass...and the ATM too. I felt bad for both the man and his wife. The appeared to be very shaken up.
I suspect that he will lose his license...that they will tell him he cannot drive anymore. I know we will all be there one day. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
We really thought we were just going to vote!

Gosh, it seems like those kinds of accidents happen a lot lately. I once thought I was just going to the Farmers Market, and the same thing happened to an elderly gentleman there. He took out about 10 fruit and vegetable stands. Thank God nobody got hurt. Personally, I think there should be some sort of fail safe system on the car to prevent this happening since it seems to quite often. I hope the old guy is okay. Hey, maybe he was upset about his voting options?
Wow
Anything can happy so enjoy those donuts!

Always an adventure...
but this is one time I would
have given up the donut and coffee
and stayed home.
Glad you were there to witness it and share it. :0) I do feel bad for him, we will all be there, and some of us sooner than we want. I worry about my grandparents and parents getting there. :(
That sounds scary and I am glad no one was hurt.
Good thing he wasn't going to the Tim Horton's drive through. Glad they are okay. It is difficult watching people grow old and lose their independence knowing if we are lucky to survive we will one day be there.
