Oh Happy Day....NOT!

Woke up today to find a huge mess in the kitchen...

Our Whirlpool Fridge...which is now 25 years old...finally died last night...sometime.

First...got online to find out whether Lowe's had one in stock that we could pick up.

Found out they could deliver it for us tomorrow and take away the old one.

YES! So...it was fun shopping for a new fridge!! We were going to remodel the kitchen anyway...we just had not planned to do it NOW.

But. With a fridge...one has no choice!!

Everything is either sitting outside in the snow...or in coolers in the pool room...it's about 40 degrees out there right now and 10 outside!

Glad it didn't happen in July.

The girlz were not happy with this whole "event" and they did their very best to drive us crazy...whining for attention!! They had TWO bones today to chew on...and still they were restless.

So we let them run around in the snow for awhile...

Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day.

Oh, but a new kitchen will be fun! And I can see you with a shiney stainless steel look. And did you know, there is such a thing as PURPLE GRANITE for counters!! I kid you not. :-)

See , having snow is a good thing...
Here you would have to trash
everything and they would wait a
week to deliver a new fridge......

Stay cheerful.. enjoy the holidays.

why does everything happen at night
or during a storm

I hope the new fridge gets settled in nicely and that the girls settle down

Same even in our house 3 years ago... at thanksgiving. Our fridge was on;y 4 yrs old and Monogram could not fix it. They could not figure out what was wrong with it....[I am still bitter] We had to throw out a lot of food over a 3 week period because they would claim it was fixed and it was not... they would come back and "fix it" and... it would not work... ultimately they gave us a credit toward a new one. This after their recommended tech blew up [literally] our monogram range...[2 months to replace it because they are custom ordered... it is dual fuel and he "forgot to tighten the harness" which caused contact and it blew up...yes we could have died in a horrible explosion, but I had a safety shield installed when we built the house... who knew...]Yup I am bitter... Hopefully your installation will be easy and painless. Our appliances are all built in and nothing is painless...
Good luck.

Hi, Jeanne! Yep, good thing this happened NOW - while you can still use the outdoors as your cooler until your new fridge arrives. Hope you love your new fridge and it gives you many years of good service.

My Chloe is wondering what's happening around here - I did major cleaning yesterday and threw out a lot of clutter. I think she wondered if I was going to throw HER out! Never ...

: ) Cheers, Cindy

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I know how attached one can become to your fridge....

Oh joy! The fun of dealing with appliances. Never my favorite! Big ticket items, especially unexpected are never fun! So cute that your little fluffy ones wanted your attention during the event. My Chloe used to do that to me all the time. Albie was just always quiet and perfect.
I hope you find what you want/need.
Hugs,
Holly

Winter is a generally good time for the fridge/freezer to kick the bucket... If there is such a thing as a good time for it to happen. I keep telling my hot water heater that if it wants to die, July would be a great time to do so...
