Does anybody else find it sad to put away all the Christmas decorations? I dread it more and more each year. And each year the holiday season seems to be shorter.
On to happier things...it's birthday month around here!!! We got lots of birthdays this month...Husband, Daughter, Bichon #1, Sister In Law.
Better get started! Happy Thursday all!

There's a lot of reasons to celebrate in January! Enjoy, enjoy!
Yes I feel it is a bit sad to put away the Christmas decorations, at the same time it also feels right to move on now.
Time flies when you're having fun. Oh....it be my birfday too dis month! And Mom's...and Dad's...and of course, brudder Max, (DaOdderWeenie)
We didn't get much put up this year, so little work. It is always fun to do the decorating but sadder and harder to put it away.
Happy Birthdays to all!

I think it is sad to put all the pretty things away but when it's done I like it too. You certainly have a lot of birthdays this month -- we only have one....
"And each year the holiday season seems to be shorter."
You said it, Jeanne! And this year especially, the holiday season FLEW by.
GREAT photo!
Happy Thursday, dear lady!

Truth be told: No. Does not bother me. In fact, I barely set out anything for Christmas this year. In early December I was in NJ for my mom's 80th, then when I got back to AK I just could not get in gear (it is just me and Mr. O anyway).
I have an assortment of Christmas trees that I haul from downstairs to upstairs. It does look festive. But we have the pretty white lights on our house that we keep going until the Iditarod (March). It is sort of a tradition in Anchorage :)
yes makes us sad too
Stop on by for a visit

Our decorations are still up. Mom will start taking them down after Epiphany (Jan 6th). It always takes her much longer to take them down then to put them up, at least that is what dad thinks. ;)
Your Buddy,
Max
I don't know if I find it sad or just dread having to do it. Packing it up and putting it away is more work than getting it out.
Mine is all still up, hopefully this weekend I can get it down
Happy January! I found it sad to put away all the holiday decor this year too. I had put so much into it just five weeks before! I will look forward to next year I guess!
Happy birthday month to you and yours. It's mine and my brother's birthday this month too... and of course Phoebe's birthday was the 1st! I also have some other friends with birthdays this month. Let's celebrate!
Mom looked forward to taking it down this year because she was anxious to get started on painting the dining room but normally, we love having Christmas stay around as long as possible!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
We are sad to put it all away too.
Sad that all the kids have to leave and go back to life, school and the rest of us reality.
We are sad we can't play the beautiful music.
But the house suddenly has more space for me to RUN.
And New Years bring New Promise.
Bittersweet.
The house seems so empty doesn't it when you take all the Christmas pretties down.
Oh my it sounds to me like your house is gonna be a PARTY HOUSE this month!!!
woos, Tessa

I'll be putting decorations away today, and yes, it does feel a little sad. But you have some nice things to celebrate this month, so the fun continues!! Will there be fabulous cards posted soon???
I find a bit sad when all the presents are given away. :( I love Christmas shopping, and normally have it done a few months early. Then, all the presents are gone... And that motivates me to start buying up again!
