Wrapping up the Weekend

We are still watching LadyBug closely as she is still clearly not back to her normal self. She is still being picked up to go up and down stairs. She is being carried when she has to go outside. As much as she wants to run and play...we just cannot let her do that. Every single time she even tries to play....just a little...she starts not using the leg again.

She's still on the metacam once per day and I am trying the heating pad. My friend suggested a heated, vibrating foot bath. I haven't yet tried that because even with the heating pad...she doesn't seem quite comfortable. She is still a little bit skittish about "strange" things. So...I am trying to massage by hand and make sure she stays ON the bed at night. The biggest challenge is that she loves to follow me everywhere, so I am having to stay PUT more than I'd like to...in other words...laundry is piling up...things that should be getting done...aren't.

LadyBug's health is more important to me...so we will stay huddled close while she is recuperating.

Tonight we enjoyed the Golden Globes Awards on tv in front of the fireplace...both her and Chloe love that!

Hope you had a great weekend!! It is eight degrees right now...quite frigid!!

Oh my gosh, Jeanne, I didn't realize that Ladybug was sick. I sure hope that she will be better soon...8 degrees? You are one brave woman! I've never been in 8 degree weather, so your fireplace is looking very inviting!!! XO Cindy

Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry to hear that your adorable pup has a problem with her leg. I'll have to find the post where you talk about what happened. I know how hard it can be to care for an injured dog, especially once they want to start being active again....but too soon.

We're jealous of all the snow you have - we haven't had more than meaningless flurries that didn't stick, and we love snow! Beautiful photos!

Oh LadyBug! I had no idea that this was going on. I hope she'll be feeling better very soon. You are such a good mama to give her lots of love and keep her quiet and calm. It's hard to do! Watching the Globes is a great way to relax. We did too! I, of course loved seeing all the gorgeous dresses.

I can't believe your beautiful snow. Wish we had just a little bit of what you've got! It is going to get "cold" again this week! Wow... I think we'll be in the 60's! ha!

Take good care,
Holly & Phoebe

I can so relate to this. When I was on Metacam, the vet said to not let me jump or go up stairs. this was especially hard cuz it's my job to follow mom everywhere. how are we going to do this, mom said! It's hard. For everypawdy. Hang in there. Time will help, as hard as that is!

Hi Bichon Mommy.

I'm a little out of the loop at the moment. What happened to Lady Bug? Is something wrong with her foot?

I hope she's okay.

You are so right that Ladybug's health comes first. We do whatever it takes for our furbabies to get well. Even though I'm not a snow person, it looks absolutely beautiful out there. My gosh 8 degress, so reminiscent of our time in Missouri. It wasn't always that cold, but at least once or twice a winter we hit 8 degrees. I love your warm fireplace. That's where you all need to be right now. Of course with Ladybug propped right next to you. Take care lil darling.

So sorry about little LadyBug. She is such a sweetie and we want her ALL better! I think lots of Scotties have the luxating patella as well.

Beuatiful photos and aren't you GLAD to have that cozy fireplace? Something about even seeing the fire makes one warm all over!!!!
