Catch Up

A week or so ago, we took a quick drive up to the cottage to check on things and make sure that no trees had fallen on the roof and no pipes had burst. It was an eventful ride there as Miss Chloe did NOT want to calmly ride. She proceeded to just go a little nuts and pant like a freak the ENTIRE two and a half hour ride. LadyBug was calmly napping in her own seat. Chloe still thinks she is going to the groomer or the vet every single time we get in the car! Drives us nuts. No matter how hard we try to get her used to it...she just won't buy it. So...here's a bunch of photos of our journey. The trip home went much smoother and they both pretty much stayed in their seats and napped, with one exception...Miss Chloe decided to throw up. Other than that, we had a great trip!

Clearly, we had some REALLY big winds as a huge chunk of the Trex Deck Fence was missing! Fortunately we did not see any big trees on any roofs!

Happy Friday!!

Such a pretty spot you've got there at the lake.

Maybe you can give Chloe a dramamine when you travel. I'd ask the vet. It would make her sleepy and settle stomach.

Your cottage at the lake looks like such a cozy place. Too bad about the fence, but we guess it could have been much worse. Hope you all have a nice weekend.

Hey there, the cottage looks like a great place to relax and hang out with friends and loved ones! And there's so much space for the furkids to run about too :) i love the photo of the lake :} You've got a really nice place there :}

From Popcorn:
Dear Chloe, i know car rides can be very stressful, i shiver in every car ride i've been on too! And ya, mommy realizes that i pant a lot throughout the entire journey pretty loudly. i hope we slowly get used to car rides, and start to appreciate the joy of sticking our tongues out of the car :D paw-five

what an adorable cottage.. love it.!!
I feel for Miss Chloe... Tease is still not allowed in my car because she
pants the entire drive.. Bob is so use to it he doesn't even notice she goes from side to side constantly... and
all you have to do is look at his trucks windows to know.

Chloe needs a thunder shirt and she needs to ride in the front. Sounds like she gets car sick and stressed out. Try both, I bet she will do fine.

I had a chocolate lab who used to be like that in the car. It always stressed her out
Glad you didn't have any serious damage

Poor little Chloe! That is awful she gets herself so worked up....poor little baby!!! Murphy spends sooo much time in the truck with us, he thinks he lives there!!!

The cottage is so pretty and thank heavens nothing fell onto it! I imagine how POWERFUL that wind must be when it comes in off the lake...with nothing to stop it!

What a wonderful cottage. Poor little Chloe. Our girls ride pretty well, but then they are used to going across country. But one time, Meeka was having a very hard time - panting heavily, just acting upset. I gave her half a pill that Sugar takes when she gets nervous during a thunderstorm. Well, it knocked her out cold! We drove for 8 hours that day and Meeka slept the whole time. I started to get worried because she was so drugged, but eventually she came out of it. She never had any trouble riding in the car after that. I hope Chloe gets used to it soon.
