Chloe's Recuperation

We spent some time at the vet yesterday and Chloe is back on her Metacam. That medicine used to be like liquid gold, but it is taking much longer this time. Apparently, with Chloe's already damaged knee and her advanced age of 8 she is also dealing with arthritis. We must try our best to keep her quiet....not crated, but no running, playing, or jumping. Easier said than done!

It was an extremely busy day st the vet.....we saw a beautiful newf like Remington and a cute yorkie like Pip and a VERY friendly boston terrier that squeaked! He wanted to join Chloe in her stroller! POTP requested that with time Chloe will once again be walking on all four legs...rather than three.

Keeping them quiet is really tough, when Frasier was dealing with heartworm treatment I had the same problem, although he's such a couch potato it turned out to be not such a bad deal. I hope you have no trouble and Chloe can heal.

Poor Chloe! With arthritis too, I'm sure the changing weather isn't helping her. I hope the Metacam kicks in soon for her. I know how hard it is when the vet says "no running and playing". Duh, easier said then done. Good luck!

Arnica Montana. Please, get her some in lotion form and rub it. Also you can give her oral Arnica Montana. It is safe and it is wonderful and it works... kiss her for me.

Chloe it is time to rest and take it easy....don't do anything that will make you hurt. Let your mommy wait on you....should I send a little bell so you can ring when you need service?

Thank you for the update on Chloe, Jeanne.

My mother is going through the same thing with her dog (a Pomeranian) - arthritis. He's about 13 years old. And like with Chloe, he's a very active little dog, so it's hard to keep him quiet and still.

Sending out a BIG hug to Chloe...

We aren't sure what is wrong with Chloe's leg, but is surgery an option? Poor girl - we hope the Metacam helps. It did a lot of good for Dakota when she was in a lot of pain too.

What a merry band! There is beauty is the relationship between pets, and between pets and their keepers (or do they keep us?)
Peace and good.

Not easy to keep a dog quiet. I hope that you are successful treating her leg without surgery. If there is dog physical therapy available, I urge you to try that. It did wonders for Mango.

Awww to bad about the pain. Yuck. And how do you tell a dog to sit and be still?

Feel better soon, Chloe. My 11 yr. old sister Stanzie, has a messed up knee too. We tried Rymadel and now she is on a very light dose of Duramax, but what has been a real help, is this supplement called Ligaplex 2, for people and pets. It does not seem to have the side effects like loss of appetite....anyway, for what it's worth! Wyatt
