Sepia Saturday: The Gold Mine Edition

We had such an interesting time while visiting the Black Hills of South Dakota, that I would like to share with you a few of the pictures of the mine in Lead, South Dakota.

Let me just tell you that we were very glad that we were there in the summer!!  There were a couple of roads that we were on that were so treacherous that we had to turn around!!  Of course, we were driving a Ford Mustang and not a Jeep Grand Cherokee!  It wasn't exactly the type of vehicle to do any real four wheeling in!!

I honestly cannot imagine how those people cope during the severe storms in the winter!!  Some of the roads were straight UP...or straight DOWN!  Very scary if you are driving on gravel!!

Jeanne, fantastic sepia shots of South Dakota! I've never been there, so it's very interesting to see what it looks like. Love that second photo down!

" Some of the roads were straight UP...or straight DOWN!"

I know what you mean because while living in Lake Tahoe for a summer, we had to drive through the mountains, and although they were not graved roads, they were very steep and scary because you could see over the edge and straight down - yikes!

Have a super Saturday, my friend!

X to you and the girlz!
