So...this week we had a LOT of torrential rain...downpours and storms!
And
This happened....
One of our neighborhood kids lost control of his car and hydroplaned onto our lawn and across our property into the electrical transformer.
The engine of his car was entangled in our bushes. The tow truck came and his car was totalled.
We went about 12 hours without power.
Fortunately no one was hurt and the damage can be repaired.
Kudos to our electric company for coming and replacing the transformer box as quickly as they could and getting our electric back up and running so that we didn't have water in our basements!!
My week was spent on the phone with various police departments, records departments, neighbors, insurance companies, landscaping companies and hopefully we will be back to normal real soon!

It will be awhile before all of the miscellaneous parts of the car are removed from the lawn!

Oh no. Thank God nobody was hurt and everything else can just get replaced. What a bummer. We hope you will be back to normal soon. Try and have a good Friday.
Best wishes Molly
How terrible! I'm glad no one was hurt, but I think someone needs to take a refresher course in how to drive safely on wet roads.
How scary is that! Be safe.

WOW...what week you've had indeed, Jeanne!!! But I was so relieved to read that no one was hurt and that the electrical transformer was replaced. Having lived in Florida with all the rain, I would see so many accidents in which a car hydroplaned. Very dangerous.
Have a peaceful and relaxing weekend, my friend.
X to you and the girlz!
Yikes! That's scary! Glad nobody and no dogs were hurt in that accident!
Bless your hearts! It is very fortunate that the young man wasn't injured. Hydroplaning is such a helpless feeling. Have a peaceful weekend! ♥
Wowsa!! So glads everyone is okay!! and you gots your power back on before your basement flooded! Hey, you can send some of that rain this way!! We sure could use it!
Have one FABulous weekend..you deserve it!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
wow, scary. thankfully no one was hurt
Thank goodness no one was hurt! 12 hours is a long time to go without electric. It makes you appreciate it even more, right!
So glad the driver was okay. I don't remember hearing about that crash but there were a few during all our rain.
