Day Trippin' to the Burrville Cider Mill

Each year before we close up the cottage and head for home, we visit the Burrville Cider Mill.  It has been a tradition of ours for many years now.

They have such a wide variety of different kinds of apples, as well as THE best cider slushies we have ever tasted.  But, the real reason we go...if I am going to be honest here...is the CIDER DONUTS!!  They are melt in your mouth good!!  Nice and warm and covered in sweet cinnamon!

I do not have photos of those scrumptious treats because we ate them!

We ate them ALL!!

We do not regret it one single bit.  It was SOOOOOO worth it!

Even the girls got to try a piece when we got home...we always save them a snack!

So, tell me...do you and your family have a tradition like this in the Fall?

There are lots of fall festivals in the area that we visit. One has a huge Turkey Leg that DH always looks forward to each year.

We love apples, and Mom has some great Honey Crisps in the fridge. Time to cut one open, Mom.

We have never had a cider donut. We are really missing out, aren't we! Durham Fair is our peeps tradition and it stinks that we can't go too!

Cider Mills are marvelous! We have one by our house but I have to wait until it gets MUCH cooler before I will go. When it is hot or too warm, it is a haven for bees!!! DakotasDen

What a great tradition! So cute you bring a treat for the furry friends. We like to go apple picking and carve pumpkins in the fall.
