Transition Time Again...

It seems as if each year, the summer becomes shorter than the last!!

I am in the midst of transitioning from the cottage back home which requires a significant amount of time and energy.  So, if anyone has been wondering where we have been...we are right here!!

Here is a quick video I took...just at the end of my road.  Sometimes I take a scooter ride down there just to breathe!

I have also upgraded to Windows 10 and all was well for the first couple of weeks...then I had a glitch of some sort and thought I lost everything.  Fortunately, I was able to get everything back.  It just took a little while and a LOT of research!

The girls are not too happy that we will be heading back home.  They really love it here and it is much easier for them...they don't have to walk up and down several sets of stairs just to go out to potty!  I can relate...it is much easier on my knees!!

The weather has been absolutely spectacular around here lately...temps in the 80's and sunny...pretty much unheard of here in Northern NY in late September! I am NOT complaining.  I am enjoying every single minute of it.  Fall is such a beautiful season.  The leaves have not changed much here probably because of the warm temps.  Even at night, it is not getting down low enough for the leaves to change.  I suspect we will notice more next week.

Here are a few pics I took while we were out wandering...

Here's to another couple of really NICE weather days!!  Happy Weekend!

nice photos. A beautiful spot. No wonder the girls don't want to leave. Transitioning into fall isn't easy since I know that winter is not far behind

Thanks guys...so far the weather report is looking pretty darn good!! We are really happy about that...it is so much easier to do outside things when we are not FREEZING! Happy Weekend!

Thank you Anne and Ziggy! We do love it here...wish we could stay all year! Enjoy your weekend!

Totally agree...I'd love to stay here year round. My husband is not in agreement with me though...he would get "bored". At home, he has all of his "stuff"! I'd be perfectly happy living in the RV! :) They say opposites attract! Ha! We will do our very best to send you all of our snow!! Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks Ann! We do love it here...and many, many things have changed since the 70's when my husband bought this place. Making the transition to fall is easier when it is warmer though...we used to stay until mid-October, but I haven't been able to convince him to stay that long this year. The last couple of years, we have been closing a bit earlier because it is difficult to do outside chores when it is FREEZING! It can get very cold and very rainy here in the North Country...and sometimes even as early as October. So, that's why we have cut the season a bit short and are closing up in September! Happy Weekend Ann!

Thank you so much Ruby! If it were up to us, we would never leave...except that there would be a real problem...no water!! We pull our water out of the lake and so we have to winterize the place and we cannot open again until about May. Happy Weekend Ruby!!

I'd love to ride out the winter here Donna! I seriously would!! Well...given a choice, I'd love to ride out the winter in Arizona! We can't stay here much longer than September because we pull our water out of the lake. When things get too cold...it's NOT good. If they were to put town water in here, it would be AWESOME and I would be here all the time!! We may see them bring town water...but probably not for another ten years or so. For now, we have to winterize...it is a pain in the neck let me tell you. Every single thing that is liquid must be carted back home again. Last year I accidentally left a six pack of coke in one of the cabinets...what a MESS! My husband was NOT happy about that. So, he double and triple checks everything I do!! We also have to put antifreeze through all the water lines, and winterize the toilets and the washer and all the sinks and showers. It is quite the process. It would be a WHOLE lot easier if we had town water! So glad to hear that you guys are traveling in your motorhome!! I wish I could take ours and head south!! :)

It's really been pretty good Jenna. I had a couple of weeks where it was just fine. It is just quirky. Microsoft needs to work out the kinks. After a couple days of pulling my hair out, I fixed it and we are good to go...for now. I like it actually, as long as it behaves! :)
