A Dickens Christmas Adventure in Skaneateles, NY

Continuing in our quest to enhance our Christmas adventures this season, we took a day trip to Skaneateles, NY which is not far from us.

What a cute little town!  It would have been a lot more fun if the temperature was warmer.  It was FRIGID with a very cold wind!  We enjoyed ourselves, but we decided the summer would be a better time to visit.  It would have been nice to spend a little more time in the shops.  Some of the photos you see were taken in a little store called F. Oliver's.  Kind of funny because we actually have an F. Oliver's in our own town and we have never been in it!  Their olive oil is the BEST and I highly recommend it.  This is not a sponsored post, I just really love their oils.

Enjoy my photo tour...

Looks like a quaint little town. I have always loved towns that have gazebos in the town square.

Jeanne, each and everyone of these photographs is AWESOME! OMG...I especially love the one of the horse-drawn carriage! What a CHARMING little town!

Please send some of that cold weather my way because it's been unseasonably warm. Christmas day is predicted to be in the high 70's :(

Have a grrrreat week!

Yes! It was a really beautiful little town indeed! Had we known...we would have visited sooner! We must go back when it gets a bit warmer...although we understand it is MUCH more crowded in the summer...

It was a gorgeous day...except for the temps!! It was FRIGID!! The wind was bitter cold...so we did not spend a lot of time there...just made a quick stop and back home again!

Thank you Ron! We absolutely loved this little gem of a town! It is definitely a resort town in the summer...but they do the Dickens' Christmas from Thanksgiving right on through Christmas every weekend. We thought it would be a fun day trip...and it was!! Except it was absolutely BITTER cold and the winds were unbelievable! We must go back in the spring. We have had that unseasonably warm weather here too...so weird!! It is almost 50 degrees right now ...not typical Christmas weather...that is for sure!! It seems like it goes down to 30 for a day or two...then right back up to 60 again! We are expecting temps in the 60's tomorrow! Have a great week too Ron!! xo

Yes, we love little town like this very much. The gazebo was really pretty, and we definitely would have spent more time there if it had been a bit warmer!
