My Take on The Oscar's 2016...

Of course you knew that I would be discussing my Best Dressed Picks today!! But, first, let me tell you...in my opinion, there was WAY too much time spent on the whole diversity thing.  It was not necessary to keep bringing up the issue.  If it was mentioned in the opening monologue and that was it, I would have been fine with it.  But, no.....they had to keep bringing it up every five minutes!

Anyway, Cate Blanchett looked pretty in this aqua number!

 Alicia Vikander in "Dusty Yellow"

Brie Larson in my absolute FAVE color...Cobalt Blue!!

Charlize Theron always looks perfect in Dior.  I don't think I can ever remember her looking anything but perfect!

I thought Jennifer Garner looked great!

Not too many people could carry off this look, but YES, Kerry Washington / Olivia Pope CAN and DID!  It was HANDLED!

Naomi Watts always looks so sweet!  Loved the colors of her dress.

What can I say...Sofia Vergara never misses a beat!  Perfection!

I thought Tina Fey looked better than usual!  She has had some not too great Red Carpet moments..this one was a WIN!

I was also surprised to learn that the interviewers were told not to ask the women "Who they were wearing".  WHAT????  I have been watching the Awards Shows for a very long time and I never knew that the actresses were upset that they were asked what designer made their dress.  I was really surprised that #askmemore was a trending hashtag on Twitter!

I just didn't get as much out of this year's show...and I am somewhat disappointed I guess.  I was happy that Leo DiCaprio finally won.  His acting in "Revenant" was AWESOME!

I was NOT HAPPY that Sylvester Stallone did not win for Creed.  He DESERVED that award.  Not that Mark Rylance wasn't deserving...his role was very good in Steven Spielberg's Cold War thriller, "Bridge of Spies".

Lady Gaga's performance was very emotional and the audience was moved to tears.  It was a very powerful performance.

It was quite a surprise to everyone, I think, that the night's most prestigious award went to “Spotlight,” about the Boston Globe’s investigation into decades of sexual abuse within the Catholic Church. The film also won for best original screenplay.

So...that is my take on tonight's awards!

The girls decided they'd rather nap in front of the fire...

I hate to admit this but I don't even know who those women are. I don't watch many movies and I don't keep up with any of it. Of course I do know Leo DiCaprio and Sylvester Stallone. Love seeing all the dresses they wear. Some can be pretty outrageous. That seems kind of odd that the actresses would get upset about being asked what designer made their dress.

I love the aqua dress... it's so perfect for spring :o) I sadly slept in and missed a lot last night, but I'm always surprised how great Lady Gaga can be... I always thought she is just a wild thing... now I know she is a wild artist and sings with her heart and her voice :o)

I didn't watch it but I LOVED Naomi Watts' dress! As for the diversity thing, I didn't watch it, so don't know if the topic was really overdone, but really, there needs to be more diversity in the Oscars. Not just who's nominated to win but also the diversity in genres that are up for nomination. There are so many categories of movies they leave out.

Our mom went to bed too early to see most of the show but we did see Alicia Vikander in her yellow dress on the morning news and she thinks it's just beautiful!

I agree with the dresses. The ladies looked gorgeous. Lady Gaga's performance had me crying so hard. She has really come a long way from her days in the meat dress! LOL!

My favorite was Tina Fey but mostly because purple is my favorite color. I agree that this has to be one of her best red carpet looks ever.
