They are BACK!

The Walking Sticks are BACK!!

We cannot figure out why on earth they always show up on the mailbox at the cottage...

But, lo and behold...went out yesterday and there they were!

The big surprise this year...

There were FOUR of them!!

We never, ever find them anywhere else EXCEPT on the mailbox.

It is the strangest thing!!

Now...

Aren't you glad I had my camera??

If you look real close...you can see that there are two...one on top of the other!

My mom has seen these before and says they are the only insects she actually likes because they are so weird.

Amazing they're just in the one area. I've seen these, but very seldom.

Hi Jeanne, I think they are such interesting insects! I also love praying Mantis. Hope you have a great weekend.

Very cool! Maybe it's the type of wood on the mailbox that attracts them there?

How curious - we don't think we have ever seen those here. Maybe they are drawn to the black? Or maybe they are waiting to see if they won the sweepstakes or would that be sweepsticks?

They are really cool. I haven't seen any of them here in Massachusetts, but I did see a praying mantis in Vermont last week coming home from our family reunion.

They sure are odd looking bugs. It would be easy to think they were just sticks

I think they're an interesting insect, and they don't startle me as much as a praying mantis does. But we don't see many around here - Maybe we need to get a mailbox! :-)
