Travel Tuesday: Topsail Island

Continuing on our journey...we spent some time on Topsail Beach...what a fabulous beach!  And it was NOT crowded!!

Believe it or not, I had NEVER tried Fried Pickles!  I thought I would not like them...so even though we have been all over the south and the caribbean...we have never tried them.  So...my sister said you HAVE to try them....Holy Cow!  I have really been missing out!!

A new southern favorite!!

We also were told that we must try this particular bakery and it certainly did not disappoint!!  Those cinnamon rolls....WOW!  Perfect iced coffee!  It was really, really good...highly recommend!

Anyone who knows me...knows that I adore Alex and Ani!  So, I always have to find a store that sells my favorite brand.  I was so happy that I found Mia's Marketplace!  And, they had JUST the ring I was looking for!  My husband does not like shopping in ANY form...but he tolerates it a little.

I know one thing...I would not like to visit this place in the summertime.  The traffic would be INSANE!!  April is the perfect time to go!  And in the summer...it would be WAY too HOT!!  As it was, it was pushing 80 while we were there some days.  80 is about my limit!

Ben just loves to take pictures of me with various "creatures"...so here are a few of those!

And there you have it!  Next time I will show you a little bit of the RV Park where we stayed...I would definitely recommend it!

What a beautiful beach!! Our beaches are rarely crowded...but they don't get much above 65 degrees and the water is always way too cold to swim in! I miss the Atlantic beaches sometimes!

Faaaaaaaaaabulous photographs of Topsail Beach, Jeanne! What a picture perfect beach!

I've never had Fried Pickles but am a huge lover of pickles, so I think I would really love them. Your picture makes them look so yummy; especially the side dip!

"80 is about my limit!"

Me too! As you know, summer is not my favorite season because I can't stand being hot. It's been unusually cool here for June, however, I see that next week we're getting temps into the mid-90's UGH!

Have a great rest of your week, my friend!

I need to figure out how to make them! I am not looking forward to the 90 degree heat this week either...I will be hanging out in my A/C! :) Have an awesome week and thanks so much for stopping by!! xo

Those Cinnamon Rolls were the best I have ever had....they were insanely good!! Your mom would have loved them! The fried pickles were surprisingly good! I really didn't think I would like them...but I sure do!! I have never tried Fried Okra...

Thanks Melissa! We sure were enjoying the weather while we were there ... although it was quite a bit hotter than it normally is during the month of April. It was just so nice to get away from the doom and gloom of Upstate NY in the winter months...everything is so brown...or white! LOVE the flowers and the blue skies!! I also ADORE Southern Food!! :)

Jeanne Pursell said...

Seriously Donna...I simply cannot believe that you have never had Fried Pickles....you are in TEXAS! Well...you gotta try them! Not Sour!! They really are insanely good!! Thanks for your kind words!!

I love any beach...it really doesn't matter if I can go in the water or not...there is just something so calming about being BY the water. And you are very lucky that you live near the ocean!!
