#PetSafe Raises Awareness for Pet Hydration with the Drinkwell Sedona Fountain

~Disclosure:  PetSafe provided me with this fountain for the purposes of review.  No other compensation was received  All opinions are my own and PetSafe is not responsible for the content of this review.~

Did you know that your pet needs one ounce of water per pound of body weight each day?

 Are you aware that
many pets instinctively prefer to drink moving water?

PetSafe® is sponsoring Pet Hydration Awareness Month to help educate pet parents about the importance of proper pet hydration.  We are checking out the new PetSafe Drinkwell Sedona Fountain!

“These hot summer days can cause even the healthiest of pets to suffer from dehydration, heat stroke or sunburn,” said Willie Wallace, CEO of Radio Systems® Corporation, makers of the PetSafe brand. “Therefore, it’s extremely important that pet parents take extra precautionary steps to help keep their pets healthy and hydrated this summer.”

Essential to a pet’s overall health and well-being, water supports vital organ functions and is responsible for important bodily functions including digestion and waste removal.

A pet’s body is made up of 80 percent water, and can result in serious health issues if a pet becomes dehydrated.

To help pet parents understand the health risks of dehydration, PetSafe brand has developed an infographic outlining important facts about pets and proper hydration. The infographic illustrates the recommended daily water intake for pets – one ounce per pound of body weight – as well as the steps to take if a pet becomes dehydrated.

We also have the PetSafe Drinkwell Pagoda Fountain in Blue...you may remember we reviewed it last year.  Chloe has to "check" out the new fountain to see if it is the same as "her" other fountain.  Once she realized it really has AWESOME tasting water...she took to it right away!!

Go ahead and pick up one of these fountains for your furry friend today...you will love the simplicity of cleaning it and assisting with your pet's hydration as well!

Personally, I love the fact that it is so quiet...it is almost silent!
And just as a reminder...here are a few MORE tips regarding Pet Hydration from PetSafe!!

#ChewyInfluencer PetSafe Busy Buddy Jack

Bichonpawz is a Chewy Influencer and we received the PetSafe Busy Buddy Jack in exchange for an honest review. We did not receive any other compensation.  All opinions are my own and PetSafe is not responsible for the content of this post.

This month for our Chewy.com Review, they sent us the PetSafe Busy Buddy Jack!  The Jack is designed to challenge your dog and is also built to be durable and refillable!

The Jack is constructed of rubber and durable nylon and it holds Busy Buddy Natural Rawhide or Chicken Flavored Dental Treat Ring Refills so your dog will be kept quite busy for a long time!

I had a great time watching LadyBug play with this toy...she was chewing it and biting and twisting the little rawhide ring all around!  I found this to be particularly fascinating as LadyBug has NEVER, ever played with any toys!  Since I rescued her several years ago, I have tried every kind of toy I can think of and nothing held her interest...except for this particular one! (She does love the puzzle games that both her and Chloe play...but not any other toys.)

Back to the JACK!  The treat rings can be moved around in multiple locations and configurations...increasing the intensity of the challenge for your dog.

A couple of notes:

*  Please be sure to always supervise your pet while playing with the Jack.

*  The Jack is top-rack dishwasher safe!

*  Additional treat rings are available for purchase separately!

Head on over to Chewy.com and pick out your very own Jack!

“Dehydration occurs when fluid levels drop to less than normal, due to either reduced water intake or increased fluid loss,” Wallace said. “Always make sure your pet has access to plenty of clean, fresh water, especially when traveling or exercising with your pet, or whenever they’re outside for any period of time.”

Another way to ensure pets are receiving enough clean, fresh water daily is with the use of a pet fountain. Some pets, specifically cats, prefer to drink from a moving water source.

Giving pets filtered, oxygenated water entices them to drink more and get the proper hydration that is essential to their health.

Prevent Accidents with the #PetSafe Break-Away Collar

~Disclosure:  I received a PetSafe™ collar to try on my dog.  This is my honest opinion and PetSafe™ is not responsible for the content of this review.~

A survey of vets, trainers, and dog daycare centers indicated that more than half of pet professionals have experienced a collar related accident with a dog.  It's estimated that upwards of 26,000 collar related accidents occur each year.  Many of these accidents happen when two dogs are just playing together!

The KeepSafe® Break-Away Collar prevents these types of strangulation accidents from happening.  Other examples include dogs getting caught in fences, slats on decks, crates and kennels, heating / cooling vents and shrubs and branches.

The KeepSafe Break-Away Collar by PetSafe protects your dog from collar strangulation by using a patented safety click that releases in emergency situations.  If the collar becomes caught on something, the buckle will break away; therefore, reducing the risk of strangulation and / or injury.  After the collar has released, the buckle can be reattached and used over and over again.

The collar comes equipped with d-rings that can be used for walks!  The d-rings override the break-away part of the collar!  Check it out in this video:

#PetSafe Sliding Glass Pet Door Giveaway!!

Letting Chloe and LadyBug out eight-seven times a day does get rather tiresome.  If you have dogs or cats then I am positive that you have entertained the idea of getting a doggy door.

Have you thought about how much FREEDOM that would allow you AND your pets??  I bet that one of these new Sliding Glass Pet Doors introduced recently by PetSafe® would help to solve this problem!!

I'm telling you, this PetSafe Sliding Glass Pet Door is the BEST!!  My husband and I are looking at each other saying, "WHY did we wait so long to get one of these genius inventions"??

The PetSafe Sliding Glass Pet Doors allow dogs and cats the freedom to go in and out whenever they like and help to eliminate "accidents"!

The doors feature shatter-resistant glass and heavy-duty aluminum construction, along with an energy-conserving flexible flap that is designed to keep the heat and the cold outdoors.

The assembly of the doors can be permanent or semi-permanent depending on your own individual needs.  We have chosen to use the semi-permanent method as there are times when we prefer to have a larger size opening...such as when our friend, who is in a wheelchair, visits us and wants to enjoy the deck!  The doors fit either left or right sliding glass doors.  Weather stripping and a closing panel are also included for resisting the elements.  We were surprised at how easy the installation went!!  It was quick and easy!  You can read more information about the door you are interested in here.

The PetSafe® brand is an industry leader in the development of innovative pet products.  For additional information, please visit PetSafe.net. or visit them on Facebook or Twitter.

Of of my readers will have the chance to win one of their very OWN PetSafe Sliding Glass Pet Doors.  The winner will be able to choose the size that fits their needs.  This giveaway is for U.S. residents only and all entrants must be over the age of 18.  Just fill out the form below and the contest will run until July 6th.  Winner will be notified by email.
