Living in a Zoo

Do you ever feel like you are living in a zoo?? I was totally freaking out the other night when a snake graced my front porch...then I realized it was TWO snakes. I hate snakes. And we don't usually have snakes here in Northern NY. At least not on my porch we don't. I would expect them in Santa Fe. Not in NY. I think they ate Zip's buddy, Mr. Toad. Mr. Toad was gone as of yesterday morning. And so were the snakes. At least I hope so!!

Then I'm rushing out the door to go to the store yesterday and right smack in front of my face is a squirrel IN Zip's water bowl. Just getting himself a drink. Amazing. Squirrel's don't need water bowls. The bowl is now in my sink being disinfected with bleach.

My eyes are constantly being drawn to the cute photo.
I'm so glad we don't have to worry about snakes, I think I would end up a nervous wreck if I was confronted by snakes. The squirrel I could cope with.

That is a cute photo in your header. It feels like a zoo here often times, but that is because we have 4 kids, 2 cats, 2 bunnies, 2 donkeys, a dog and some fish. And they don't always behave, except maybe the fish. Oh, there is the visiting cat, that comes every evening, and the neighbours cat that visits occasionally too.

I like your new header photo - very cute!

My zoo would contain bugs, I get way more of those than visiting animals. It's spider season here and they are everywhere right now! *shudder*

Like the header picture.

I keep thinking Snakes on a Plane...but then if it were a plane, it would be in your front yard...and that wouldn't be good.

As Dawn noted, we practically own our own zoo with the amount of animals at our place.

I have a water dish just for squirrels. It is a flat plant tray on a stump. I put water in it when it is dry out and if it is wet it catches rain. Squirrels, chipmonks, and birds all use it.

And snakes? I always make the dogs leave the snakes alone. Snakes eat mice and chipmonks. Keeps the critters on their toes!

That's not such a zoo, honey! Come see the coyotes and the cougar who roam my yard. I'll take a snake any day (as long as he doesn't surprise me). Hopefully they were not poisonous! Zip is adorable, by the way (and I don't even like poodle's after that one peed on my head...)

chrisb - Thanks! I think Chloe's pretty cute too!

lisaschaos - I didn't get a photo of the squirrel...but the snake is there!

Dawn - Thank you for your kind comment. I don't know anyone else who has a donkey!

fiwa - I don't like spiders either, but have gotten rather used to them...being near the water.

sirdar - Thanks! I haven't seen Snakes On a Plane...not sure I want to!

qualcosodibello - Indeed "critter serendipity"! Thanks for stopping by.

worksformom - Thanks! I pretty much was in cardiac arrest.

walker - maybe that's why I haven't seen many chipmunks lately!

thiselecticlife - Yikes! Coyotes and Cougar would make me totally crazy!
