I'm Just Throwing It Out There...

Looking for some input on a couple of things....what do you think is better...Twitter or Twhirl? If you prefer one over the other, why? And WT....I know that you will pick Plurk. Well, Plurk is not one of my choices....I just don't have the time to figure out how the hell Plurk works. It's confusing to me. Lord only knows why...but it is. So, if you have a preference or any advice, please let me know! I really appreciate it!!

Secondly, I have decided that it is not possible for me to ever live in a hurricane zone. Or at least where they have them on a regular basis. I would be the very first one to evacuate and then I'd lose my job! Seriously, yesterday it took me abut an hour to make myself a pot of coffee. Now THAT is coffee addiction people!!! Yes indeed. I went to the little store to purchase some instant coffee, got to talking with the clerk....we were complaining about the fact that the bottle of instant coffee was $7.88! The thing would have lasted me the rest of my life!! And it's not my favorite thing to drink. Only when absolutely, positively an emergency!! So here you have my pic of primitive manual coffeemaking with an electronic coffee maker without the electric part!

First, I had to boil the water on the burner on the outdoor grill. Then place the grounds in the filter and hold that over the pot. Slowly pour steaming hot water - without burning the crap out of my hand - then hold the little spring loaded thing to let the water drip out the bottom. Yeah. I'm a die hard coffee drinker. It took me a freakin' hour!!! Then I cooked up a meatloaf that was already mixed up in the fridge. The girls enjoyed that part....secretly hoping they'd get to share it with me! Which they did. And Zippy too.

Pure bliss when that power went back on! Don't know why it affected me so much more tis time?? Must be something that happens after one hits the magic 5 0 !!

I've learned to make hobo coffee from all these years of living in the rural south. It's better now, but there was a time that the power went out for hours every time the wind would blow hard. :-)

LOL! You'd NEVER survive in the wilderness...You should go on SURVIVOR or on one of those shows. I bet they'd keep you on long enough to boost their ratings.

AND WHAT are you doing asking about Twitter and Twhirl (the latter of which I have not even heard of. It's official. You are far more tech savvy than me at this point!

I don't do any of those things - you should ask Joy.

I didn't realize you were affected so much by Ike. At least you persevered! That's what counts. Not the fact of how long it took and I bet that coffee was pure ambrosia once you got it made!

I haven't plurked in weeks and twitter has been even longer until this morning when I twittered a bit. I haven't even heard of this twhirl?? I've been busy so these things just took up way too much time. I'd rather just blog. I do go on facebook though and that's been fun. They have a chat thing in facebook so it's a bit more personal. I don't know. I start things and if they don't grab me right away I drop them like a hot potato. And your BBQ? I swear it looks like the exact same BBQ we have sitting at our place. Gregg lurvs his BBQ!

I actually gave up on all the social networking things already. And I totally feel ya, I too, couldn't imagine the hurricane zone!

I make coffee like that when we camp. It might be a good idea to invest in a small stovetop percolator for when the power goes out. You can get stainless steal ones now and you could use it on the barbecue.

As for those other things, I haven't tried them and barely have time to blog.
