THIS is the Reason I DO NOT BAKE!!

I thought I did everything right....and yes....I did use Crisco. So.....how do you get it to come out of the Bundt Pan???

Ha!, oh I'm sorry,,,but that's the reason I don't bake either. I've actually exploded a cake before.

You and me both, sistah! I leave the baking for the more capable women in my family or a trip to the bakery suits me just fine.

Perhaps you should try spraying the pan with Pam instead of Crisco.

The newer bundt pans have that coating on them that makes it easier to release the cakes.

Other than that - I usually don't bake cakes as I'm a celiac. But I remember when!

btw - maybe Joy or Dawn might have a good idea...

Hey Better Crocker, it still looks really darn good to me. Can I come over for a piece???

Q: How do you get it to come out of the Bundt Pan?
A: Chloe and Ladybug! :)

My babies help with all that stuff. Beats washing dishes. LOL

Again. I think you know why I'm more of a cook than a baker. Too many rules!

Aren't there "springform" pans or something like that that makes it easier to take out? I've never made a bundt cake so I'm clueless...sorry!

I am SO NOT laughing...hehehe!!!!!!
Sorry, but I have had things like this happen so many times.

Did you wait for the cake to cool? My downfall seems to be removing cakes from the pans before they are cool enough.

Hey, as they say, "it all ends up in the same place" so who CARES how it LOOKS!!!!!!

Yep, that's how I cook. :)

LOL catching up here and I can't help but laugh. Sorry, but I think we've all had cakes turn out like this at one time or another. I eat them anyway of course...hee! Definitely spray the pan beforehand. If you sprayed this time? Spray more next time. It obviously wasn't enough LOL I find with chocolate bundt cakes I need to use flour as well as the spray. Something about that chocolate I guess. Also? Make sure and let the cake cool first before you take it out. I always take a plastic spatula and just run it along the edges to help loosen the cake first. Then I completely invert it onto a plate and it 'should' just plop right out. But I don't know. Your way seems fun too LOL

Not to worry, it has happened to all of us. I have made trifle with cake like that. I have pampered chef pans that work well. I use crisco, and coat it with flour. For chocolate cake, you can use cocoa instead. The flour binds with the Crisco so it stays on the outside of the cake and doesn't mix in. It appears the crisco you applied, mixed with the cake before it solidified during baking. Also, like Joy said, cool it a bit, and it will pull away from the sides as it shrinks. I cool it for 10 to 20 minutes but not until completely cool as I have found on occasion it has been more difficult to get out. I will put a knife in as well to make sure it is loose, and I put a plate over it, then invert onto the plate which I am sure you did as well. Keep trying, and if you get the same results, layer with pudding and fruit and whip cream and have a spectacular dessert as trifle.

1. use an actual baking spray, some Pam is not intended for baking.
2. Cool the bundt cake in the pan
3. while it cools, you might just sit the cake on a folded wet towel
4. It has to be cool before you invert it on a plate after... to use a thin knife to make sure the edges are loose.
But before you make it, remind yourself that you can conquer this because you are not stupid. Deep breath, and go to it!
