You have probably heard by now that Oprah announced that her show will be ending. She will have just one more season.
I, for one, will miss her show!! The woman is one talented interviewer!! Even if she doesn't particularly like the person...she does a good job of hiding it. My sister and I used to watch her...not every day...but several times a week. One of us would check out the subject matter and call the other and say "turn on Oprah"!!
So...yeah...it was pretty emotional watching her choke back tears when she was announcing the end. I do believe that she is correct though. That the show has run its course. There was a period of time earlier this year when I was a bit sick and tired of Dr. Oz and all of the health related shows. Maybe she was just trying out something new. I don't know. But it was a hell of a run for her! She's done a whole lot of good for a whole lot of people!!
One of our relatives works for her and she is very, very good to her "people". I could handle a job like that!! Ha!
So....perhaps Ellen will take over her timeslot?? It is a good one...just before the local news! I think we will still see Oprah around though.
Certainly, no one will ever forget her!

I can't imagine she will step away completely... and she really has done so much good for so many people.. amazing story, her life.

I've not watched her show.
I'm afraid I'm not one of those people who is attracted to what millions are. Like the Beatles. I have never liked their music.
I know she has done a lot of good - has come from nothing and proved anyone could do it. But for me it means very little that she is going.
I guess the fact that we don't have tv says it all huh? We manage to watch things via the internet and the big O is not one of the things we view.
Talk shows are not my thing. In fact when she got Dr. whatshisname going I was totally disgusted. I detested the man and his 'helping'. I recall seeing maybe 2 of his shows and rolling my eyes the entire time.
Then when I read about his interference with that girl who was killed in Aruba - that was more than enough for me!
Okay - I've blathered on enough. I'm just not paddling in the same boat as most.

She makes smart moves 95% of the time. I'm sure she it all figured out.
I used to watch her a lot, haven't lately, but it's still sad to think of her not being there.
