I'm doing alot of shopping online these days...
While buying online beats fighting the mall crowds, it also carries additional risks. It's important to follow some extra guidelines to keep yourself safe.
- Shop only on Web sites you trust and use a different password for each site.
- Don't make online purchases from a public computer.
- Shop at secure Web sites. Before entering your credit card information, make sure the URL in your browser's address bar contains "https" rather than "http." Also check for a closed padlock icon usually in the bottom right hand corner of the page.
- Consider using one card for all your online purchases.
- Disclose only the necessary facts when you order. Don't answer any question you feel is not required to process your order.
- Check the site for cancellation and return policies.
- Always print copies of your orders/online receipts.
Are you braving the crowds or curling up in front of your computer this year??

I like shopping online too but prefer using Paypal when paying.
We don't have Black Friday here. It is very interesting for us Canadians to watch you guys in your shopping madness!
We're on a bit of a tight budget this year, and I HATE crowds (not to mention shopping in general), and it's always a stupidly busy day at the ski resorts, so I think we'll be tucked up in bed with the doggies! :-)

I've already done quite a bit of the shopping.. and wrapping... mostly because I HATE BLACK FRIDAY CROWDS!!!...and the bargains started early this year. Love amazon, totally agree.
and don't forget also, when in doubt if it'll ship on time bump it up. worth the extra. I've finished my online shopping, did the bulk of the store stuff Sunday and now have gift cards and a couple gifts at Target left. WooHoo. I'm working Friday but if I wasn't I'd be home in bed not in one of those lines lol
i have never gone to a black friday sale and not sure i ever will
Thanks for the tips! I usually don't but on line because it makes me nervous, but if I do I will follow your tips.
I use to go out shopping at the crack of dawn on Black Friday, but the last 2 years I haven't. The deals weren't good enough for me to get up at 3am! We'll see what the ads look like this year:)
We usually wait til late afternoon
and then just cruise the mall.
The one time I went out with the
crowds , I came home after an hour
and hadn't bought anything.
Nope...not me. I go on Sat or Sun but not on that Fri...
Happy Thanksgiving to you!!

Well...hmmmmm. Not big on shopping crowds...do quite a few online purchases, and have been burned in the past with security of card, etc. This year, we hope to head to the mountains...for the weekend :) Snow!
Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,

These are all really great tips!
Personally I only shop online on Black Friday. People get a little crazy and kind of scary. Plus I don't like crowds, which automatically eliminates shopping on Black Friday - or any holiday weekend, really!
