We came back into town after being gone for a little over a month. Having stayed in touch with the kids, we knew that there had been a significant amount of rain while we were away. However; we were NOT prepared to see what we saw in our town!
We have lived here for twenty years and have NEVER seen the water this high!
Squaw Island is COMPLETELY underwater...only the trees are visible! It is truly unbelievable unless you see it with your own eyes.
I feel bad for the owners' of these little houses...they have been through so much and have been there for so long!
What a shame that the water has risen to these levels.
I can only imagine what those folks out in Mississippi are going through.
My prayers are with them.

Water is very scary, one can do so little against it. We hope you and your family will be safe from all the flooding we keep hearing about. So many people will be so badly affected by it.
Glad you made it home safely.

Jeanne, when we went to the lake on Thursday, the water haad actually receded quite a bit. The boardwalks had more water over them a few days before! Woodville is something else...Some lake houses have decks/patios right on the water and it looked like furniture was going to float away! The boat launch parking lot was under a lot of water as well. I took photos, but have been so bad about posting to the blog lately.
Hopefully, May won't be seeing so much more rain! I think we might have seen enough for awhile!!!!
OMWord! HOW did you take these photos??? Are y'all alright???
Is your place ok??? Geez...praying here!!

It just doesn't seem real until you see it in pictures. So sad.
Tragic, it seems unbelievable although I know it's not. My prayers go out to all.
