Our Calm Fourth of July!

It started out to be a beautiful day at the cottage!  Perfect temperature...which to me...is below 80 and sunny!

Have you heard about that new kinetic sand available at Michael's?  I absolutely LOVE the stuff!  It is great for decorating....no mess...and it is very easy to use cookie cutters for perfectly shaped stars!  No, I admit, I did not hand form those stars! :)

Those necklaces you see there were around the girls' necks for about 87 seconds before they came off.  The girls' thought they were annoying and let me know about it!

It is difficult to see but if you look directly in the middle of the photo, we had a major windstorm / rainstorm / coldfront move through.  We could hear it coming down the lake for about a half an hour before it occurred.  It actually sounds like a train!  After that...a beautiful rainbow!

The girls had frozen yogurt, decorated with little flags for their dessert because they did eat all of their dinner!

We had ice cream over brownies with strawberry sauce and flags because we, too, ate ALL of our dinner!!!

When Chloe decided it was time for her to go to bed, we got them set up with their bones and cranked up the music because we knew LadyBug would be a shaking mess and would DIVE under the bed when she heard the fireworks start up.  For some strange reason, she seemed calmer this year.   Perhaps it was those AWESOME calming treats from PetNaturals of Vermont!  Those treats work GREAT!!  This is NOT a sponsored post....the calming treats work very well on both of the girls!

Jeanne, I LOVE how festive your 4th of July was! I think it's so great that you decorate and enjoy the holidays as you do!

Those star-shaped cookies are faaaaaaabulous! Gorgeous shot of the rainbow!

Yes, we had a storm here too, which came the night before. But yesterday it was incredible because the temps went down into the 70's. In fact, last night they went down into the 60's, and so breezy.

Have a super weekend, my friend!
X to you and the girlz

Hi there, So glad you had such a calm 4th. Loved the stars and your patriotic decorations. I'm surprised your girl is afraid of fireworks-Hunter is our first dog that isn't(I assumed it was the breed) and I'm thankful that he isn't. Hope you have a fabulous weekend. Hunter sends kisses to your girls.

Hugs, Noreen

WOW! I love the pretty decorations for the Fourth! I never heard of the kinetic sand, but then again, I am not much of a shopper, so I guess I am not up on a lot of things! We went to Canandaigua for their display....I never saw so many cars in that city!!! 5&20 was absolutely packed!!! Mark parked on the side of the road in front of Arby's so we could make a fast escape in the end. The fireworks were pretty, but I bet the BEST place would be on a boat on the lake to take it in. We got a slip of paper in our mailbox from a neighbor saying she was having fireworks at her house on Saturday. She lives in a gorgeous house (huge log home) at the corner of Stid Hill and Bills Road. The house has a sweeping view of Canandaigua Lake. As we watched her fireworks, we could see the entire sky with fireworks all over the hill across the lake. It was awesome....even better than the Canandaigua fireworks! The display lasted over half an hour! We took Murphy with us to the Canandaigua display and he sat on our laps. Didn't seem disturbed by the noise at all. I am glad the girlz did so well!
