Wanted: Dog Rescue Group to Take Our Money
Search for America’s Next “Uncorked” Dog Rescue Is On
March 18, 2015 – Forty Fort, Pennsylvania - From idols to bachelors, America has seen its fair share of reality shows in the name of finding the “next big thing.” Now, the Wigglebutt Warriors® are sending reality to the dogs with the spotlight on dog rescue groups in the United States to take their money. Wigglebutt Warriors returns for a command performance and an attempt to up the “bark” with a brand new gala filled with fun, dogs, celebrating, and most of all fundraising for dogs in need. Statistics show that over 1 million dogs are euthanized in shelters across America each year.
Wigglebutt Warriors is the fundraising arm of Fidose of Reality. To date, this dynamic duo has raised over $33,000 for homeless Cocker Spaniels to assist with medical, food, and basic needs until they find forever homes. Seeing a need in the dog rescue world for creative fundraising, Carol Bryant got the idea to form Wigglebutt Warriors® after receiving late night pleas on social media to save dogs facing euthanasia in shelters.
“The faces of these animals waiting for someone to rescue them are absolutely heartbreaking,” Bryant shares. “There has to be a better way to call attention to the plight of this nationwide epidemic, and that’s where Wigglebutt Warriors is swooping in to help.”
Named for the shimmy-shake movement of her Cocker Spaniel’s back end, Bryant and her wife host yearly gala fundraisers with a different dog rescue benefactor each time. An open call is out for the benefactor of their 2016 red carpet event, Wigglebutts Uncorked. Wigglebutts Uncorked takes place at The Grand Monarque Hall on the grounds of America’s oldest winery, Brotherhood Winery in Washingtonville, New York, on April 16, 2016.
All 501(c)3 dog-related rescue groups located in the United States are eligible to apply for benefactor consideration. The online search began today and closes on April 25, 2015. All proceeds raised from Wigglebutts Uncorked will be donated to the selected dog rescue group.
“Pet charities have all sorts of cute names, just when was sure I heard it all - here's another: Wigglebutts,” says Steve Dale, broadcaster, journalist, and writer of arguably the most well read syndicated pet column in America.
