Photobucket: Were YOU Aware??

Chloe is showing her best Tongue Out Tuesday Shot! (Or perhaps also showing her dissatisfaction with Photobucket!!)

OK guys, I received a request for a copy of a sponsored post I did on the subject of technology.  I have not used my Reviews Blog in quite a while.  So, I did a search on the Review Blog to find it and lo and behold...ALL of the images are missing!

Actually there is a statement on the images (which you can see above) about third party hosting being "temporarily disabled".  WHAT????  I was not aware of any changes they had made.  So, over to Google I go...and apparently I am not alone.  Many, MANY other images have been taken down.

This is extremely frustrating to me.  You would think that they would have let people know so that IF you wanted to save your images, you could!

In case anyone else is looking for an alternative to Photobucket...here is a link I found to an article that has several different options:

STAY AWAY from TinyPic....
TinyPic is a photo and video sharing service, owned and operated byPhotobucket.com, that allows users to upload, link and share, images and videos on the Internet. ... An account is not required to use TinyPic.

I will never use Photobucket again...and now I am probably going to use Flickr if the need arises to use that blog.

Great way to start off the day....

GRRRRRRR!!!

An Older Perspective...

I like to read the daily news here at the cottage. It is a small town here and you get a whole different feel. Things are much different here than they are at home. Of course, that is my opinion.

There is an article written about what to get kids for graduation gifts.

Honestly, I am shocked at the things that are suggested in this article! In today's economy....where even the middle class are supposed to be suffering from high gas prices and high food prices....the suggestion is to give a CAR for your child's graduation. A freakin' car???? I am not THAT old. Really I'm not.

If memory serves me correctly, I think my parents gave me a really nice piece of jewelry to commemorate the occasion. And I didn't expect anything more than that.

Today. Different story apparently. The article states that kids actually EXPECT these types of gifts. How on earth can people afford to give CARS??? Oh. The article said not to give a high end Porsche or something not great on gas. They suggested a Honda Civic or a Toyota. Unfreakinbelievable.

The second item on the list....a Sony Viaio or a Mac. Now, I just happened to be browsing in the computer aisle today at Sam's Club and the Sony was $1099. If you have multiple kids graduating....would you be able to afford to give them EACH a top of the line gift such as this?? Even ONE kid...in today's unstable economy.I just think it is wrong to hand our kids these things on a silver platter....then they just expect that for the rest of their lives, things will be given to them.

In my day (I sound like I am a hundred years old!!) we had to work for what we wanted. I got my first real job when I was fourteen. I can still remember when I saved up enough to get a really nice ten speed bike so I could RIDE it to WORK!But then. I guess I was born in the dark ages.

Grievances...

I happened to be reading one of my Blogger friend's posts and ran across one that she did on things that annoy her on the internet.  Well...that got me to thinking.  There are actually quite a few little tidbits that annoy me.

~  Like Snapchat...don't get it.  I just don't get it.

~ Periscope?  I can take it or leave it.  Do we really need MORE social media sites?  There are new ones cropping up each day and there are only so many hours in each day for us to keep up with!

~ There are people who REALLY overshare their lives.  Drama queens/kings?  Some people's lives are not even close to what is portrayed on social media.

~  Do people really need to share the intimate details of their lives.  Some folks just get WAY too personal.  Let's leave the kids (even the unborn ones) out of it....shall we?

~  Christmas Music.  NOW.  Let's at least wait until after Thanksgiving!  It gets earlier every year.  Yesterday, Starbucks had the Christmas music on.  By the time the day actually arrives, people are REALLY tired of listening to it.  Let's ENJOY the season!!

So....tell me...what is it that bugs you?

You know you have something.

Everybody does.

Oh...and that picture at the top is just my daughter and I out enjoying a fine fall day!

Wishing I Was Not a New York Resident...

There are times when you just have to let it all out.  Frankly, I was upset a couple of months ago when Amazon Associates decided to drop all of their New York Affiliates...due to the latest tax laws.

I love Amazon and will continue to shop with them.  I was NOT happy that my commissions were cut off.

Yesterday I received an email from BlogPaws terminating my agreement with THEM.  I was a bit confused at first because it seemed as if they were asking me to update my profile...so I checked out all of my info...and everything looked good.  I thought I was good to GO!  So, I wrote back to them asking them whether they needed anything else from me.  Lo and behold...I was told that BlogPaws was terminating relationships with ALL of their New York Affiliates...because of the latest tax laws.

The letter I received back from them actually stated that this does not affect my RELATIONSHIP with BlogPaws...I can certainly continue to be affiliated with them...I just won't get PAID.  Lovely.

I have worked hard for the past seven years to get my blog to where it is today.

It appears as though I have been laid off...so to speak.

I really, REALLY hope that the rest of the companies that I am affiliated with decide to stick it out!!  A similar thing happened to the Affiliates out in California a couple of years ago and I believe they have finally straightened it all out and those peeps are back on the payroll.

Getting commissions cut off just prior to Christmas.  Not cool.

Can you tell I am a little upset??

EEEKKKKKK....The Infestation of the Wolf Spiders!!

I simply cannot keep my mouth shut this week. No way!

We returned to the homestead this week after being away at the cottage.

Yes, we were back and forth a lot this year due to all of the medical crap I have been dealing with.

I was NOT expecting to find that the yard has been infested with Wolf Spiders. I kid you NOT. Wolf Spiders.

Wolf Spiders are BAD!!! Freakin' unbelievably frightening!! And bothersome.

Would YOU want this thing greeting you at the door???

We have lived in this house over twenty years and never, EVER had this problem before!!

I actually found one of these critters in my kitchen sink!!! ACK!!

I want to sell the house!!

I really, seriously want to MOVE!!!

We have been reading and researching all day about these things and have managed to kill about fifty of them...with various "tools" and I use that term lightly. We need to go out tomorrow and purchase some more items to get rid of these things. In the meantime, my home is inundated with dryer sheets in every single room!! I even had to kill two of these creatures ON my car and one INSIDE my car driving home from the closest grocery store tonight because we absolutely HAD to have more dryer sheets!!  Tomorrow the Peppermint Oil comes out in FULL force!!  And NEEM Oil.

I am rather terrified that these things are going to come in to the house and have babies and then I will have fifty bazillion of these things driving me completely mad.

Then, I will just die.

Seriously.

I told you I could NOT not talk about this...

On this Wordless Wednesday.....
