My Brain is Frozen

Yeah...this is the weather right now!!  Per our lovely weather channel and Jim Cantore...I bring you...

* WIND CHILL VALUES... 25 BELOW TO 40 BELOW TONIGHT THROUGH EARLY MONDAY MORNING.
* IMPACTS... LIFE-THREATENING WIND CHILL VALUES.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A WIND CHILL WARNING IS ISSUED WHEN A WIND WILL COMBINE WITH COLD TEMPERATURES TO CREATE DANGEROUSLY COLD CONDITIONS FOR EXPOSED SKIN. THE WIND WILL MAKE IT FEEL LIKE IT IS 25 DEGREES BELOW ZERO OR COLDER FOR SEVERAL HOURS. THOSE PLANNING TO VENTURE OUTDOORS SHOULD USE COMMON SENSE AND DRESS WARMLY.
IF YOU LOSE POWER AND PLAN ON RUNNING A GENERATOR... MAKE SURE THAT THE GENERATOR IS LOCATED OUTDOORS AND IS PROPERLY VENTILATED. SPACE HEATERS SHOULD ALSO BE PROPERLY VENTILATED AND USED ONLY IF THEY ARE OPERATING PROPERLY. MAKE SURE SNOW DOES NOT BLOCK EXHAUSTS AND FRESH AIR INTAKES FOR HIGH EFFICIENCY FURNACES AND WATER HEATERS.

I really want to start planning a trip south.  I don't even care how far south.  There just HAS to be somewhere warmer than I am at this very moment.  I went to pick up a pizza for dinner and the heat in the Jeep didn't even warm up until I was actually AT the pizza place!!
While it is true that I do not like the high humidity and the major heat of the summer...this is ridiculous.

I'm not asking for much.

I could handle 40 right about now!!

At least the Steelers won!  WOOHOO!!!

In other news, Chloe has her paw all bandaged as she has been licking and licking and licking and I cannot get her to stop!!

See her PINK bandage??  It stayed on about 4.9 seconds.

Aw, what happened to Chloe's foot?
When Mark and I went for a ride on Saturday, we saw a woman waking a big poodle and it was wearing those cute little boots. I looked and couldn't believe it...my Scotties would have those boots off SO FAST!

I woke up at about 3:15 this morning and took the boys out. It seemed MUCH warmer than when we went snowmobiling yesterday afternoon. Then I looked at the temperature....-10!

It has been very cold here for a long time too, but not THAT cold. We have a warmup to freezing this week and then back down again. Hope you warm up a lot - that is crazy cold.

Poor Chloe, is that the vet tape? That works about the best, per the Momster.

so sorry. While it's colder than normal here, we have been hitting the 50s by mid day. To be sure this has been the absolutely coldest winter. Have you tried wiping Chloe's paws with diluted vinegar?
licking causes bacteria build up which causes more itching, so, vinegar wipes help reduce the bacteria. Also, gold bond and baby sox... some of our adopters use that method. Does she have food allergies? Or... do you use foam carpet cleaner? The latter is a real source of problems.
Stay warm.

It is very cold out! I usually don't mind the cold but when it gets into the negatives that's when I stay inside!

Sorry to hear that Chloe has a boo boo! but she looks cute in her pick bandage, even if it was only on for 4.9 seconds:)

Oh, I'm SO sorry about all that COLD!! Awful!!
Our dog did that as well...lasted about 3 or 4 months...I seem to remember something about his paw having been nicked during grooming and Corky just kept licking it...can't remember...

4.9 seconds? Really? Was she licking due to the snow/cold? My Chloe lifts her paw up after we're outside in the snow and then I know - rush her in the house! I tried snow booties for her, but they weren't that good. I need to find a better brand.

Go Steelers!

Yep, need to head south. Can I come with you?

I'm sorry, we had that a few days ago, guess it kept on going. Yesterday we were -20 when we woke up so look for that in a few days. :) HUGS!

You should come here my friend. It is sort of warm. High 40's - low 60's. Just about perfect for you right now.

Sam's dog wouldn't stop licking her paw either - I hear it's common - and so we made a little sock for her. We took one of my old socks - little feet me - and slipped it on up as far as it would go above her knee(?). We then tied it and taped it so that it wouldn't come down. She wore that for about 3 weeks - being replaced on a regular basis but not as much as a short bandage. When we took it off - she didn't lick it again.

She even had a sore from all the licking! Sort of gross looking - bleah!

Give it a try and then pack the motorhome and come south. It's worth it!

Thanks for leaving me the comment. I think it is funny that you have the same dresser. I figured it was a popular dresser back in the day. I have a long dresser with a mirror to match that I use in my guest room. I am not sure what color I am going to paint it yet.

It is warmer here tody - hope you warm up to.
My best- Diane
