My Beautiful Chloe

I  have started to write this post many, many times.  I am still too fragile to go in to much detail really.  I didn't think it was possible to cry this many tears.  I feel like a part of me went with her.  Thank God I have Juliet and Romey.  I would not have been able to deal with this without them.

Chloe was my very first Bichon Frise.  I fell in love with her the very moment I saw her at ten weeks of age.  She was with me night and day for almost fifteen years.  She followed me wherever I went.  We literally did everything together.  And I do mean everything.  What a special bond we had.  I cannot put in to words how I felt as I said my final goodbye.  

She suffered a seizure here at home.  Rushed to the vet and they said to watch her.  She came out of that one after a little while.  That evening she had another one.  It took her longer to come out of it.  None of us slept that night.  Early in the morning she had her third seizure and I knew.   At this point, she could not see or hear.  She was confused and frightened.

I knew it was her time.

I will treasure each and every single second that we shared.

Had a conversation with Juliet and Romey...and let them say goodbye.

Chloe will always live on in our hearts ... My One and Only Chloe Girl.

Forever and ever.

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.

It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of all its beautiful colors.

Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. 

There is always food and water and warm spring weather. 

The old and frail animals are young again. 

Those who were sick, hurt or in pain are made whole again. 

There is only one thing missing, 

they are not with their special person who loved them so much on earth. 

So each day they run and play until the day comes 

when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! 

The nose twitches! The ears are up! 

The eyes are staring and this one runs from the group! 

You have been seen and when you and your special friend meet, 

you take him in your arms and hug him. 

He licks and kisses your face again and again - 

and you look once more into the eyes of your best friend and trusting 

pet. 

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together never again to be apart.

The Thursday Thirteen...

All three of my pups are still recuperating from their Spa Day...don't they look relaxed?  :)

You will notice that the majority of my favorites are within the U.S. borders.  In today's world, I just don't have the same desire to venture too far away from our own country.  There was a time when I enjoyed Nassau in the Bahamas and Cozumel, Mexico.  But, not anymore...I am just not comfortable there.

I feel differently about Bermuda though...I feel pretty safe there, but one must always remember that when venturing out of the U.S., different laws pertain!  One must rely heavily on the U.S. Embassy abroad...does the name Amanda Knox ring a bell?  I still really believe that she was innocent and framed.  I cannot even imagine being in a foreign country where they speak a language I am not totally fluent in...and then being interrogated for hours on end.  Talk about frightening!!

Grooming Day!

I did not realize it had been twelve weeks in between grooms for the trio!  I took the first appointment I could get with Teena as I trust her explicitly with them.  It takes almost an hour to get to her house so we left early afternoon and dropped them off at 3pm.  It takes about four hours for them to be done, so we had to go and find something to do while we waited to pick them up.  So, Ben went over to Harbor Freight and dropped me off at Michael's so I could see what was new in the papercraft world.  As it turned out, I got a couple of really cute outfits for Romey and Juliet for the Fourth of July.  Chloe has no use for clothes of any kind...so I didn't get her any.

Then, we headed on over to Bill Gray's on Lake Ontario for burgers.  We haven't been there in YEARS and so much has changed...in the way of building, building, building.  Just who is buying all of these brand new homes??  That's what I'd like to know!!

We picked the trio up about 7 and headed on back home.  We were all exhausted upon arrival and we just wanted to sleep!  

I have wrestled with what I am going to do with my blog.  We have had several deaths to recover from and quite frankly, I am feeling very "down".  I question sometimes whether it is really worth keeping the blog going...especially when I figure in how much time and energy I put in to it...and the money just isn't there.  So, for the time being, I will try to just do my day to day "thing" and see where this takes me.

I have a lot of catching up to do on reading blogs as I have only been in to check on a few of you!  As I said, it has been quite the struggle getting out of my slump.

Thursday Thirteen

For those bloggers who have been blogging as long as I have been...some of you may remember the "Thursday Thirteen" theme that we used to do...

We haven't done it in so many years!!  So, I decided to bring it back...at least for today!  

It IS Thursday...so here are...

Thirteen things I like about me:

~I can laugh at myself. Almost every situation has some kind of humor in it!!

~Good spelling. I could win a spelling bee hands down and I have!

~I adore dogs! Maybe I'm a bit partial to Bichon Frises, but still...I love most dogs...big / little / no matter!! They have hearts of gold and they don't talk back or ask for money.

~My thoughtfulness. I love making cards for people for no reason, buying some silly little thing just to make someone smile. I call, I write, I stay in touch. Really I do.

~I can remember numbers like no one's business. I don't know why, but I do. I can remember the Vehicle ID Numbers from all of our cars and the social security numbers of a bunch of people close to me. Some of 'em don't like it, but I can't help it. Perhaps I'm a genius in disguise :)

~It's very easy to embarrass me. I will never live this down. It was always a problem during those "surprise" work parties...you know...meet us in the conference room for a "meeting". Yeah. I didn't go. Used to really piss them off. Maybe I'm just shy.

~Apologies are not hard for me to give if I am wrong. 

~I'm relentless. I will NOT give up if it is something I truly believe in.

~I'm a good friend. Remember the staying in touch thing?

~I am extremely independent. And, I love it. A weekend spent in solitude with no one to bother me is Heaven!!

~I can be very creative. When I want to be. If I don't feel like it, forget it.

~I really love celebrating holidays...it's the little things in life!

~Hope and Faith - Two somewhat abstract ideas I'd never get through the day without.

Easter Eggs! The Throwback...

Almost Easter Egg Time!

I am throwing it back today to one of LadyBug's first Easters with us!  She discovered what hard boiled eggs were all about!

There was NO way I was going to keep her away from those eggs...this dog could LIVE on eggs!!  As soon as she realized that there was an actual egg inside those pretty colored things...she just helped herself!  She would lick the outside of the egg first...which of course made her face turn blue! 

There is no shortage of laughter in this house with these two...let me tell you!!

I still miss my baby girl...every day!

We DO have a LOT of antics around here with three though!

And YES I did color eggs last night...
