I have started planning our extended trips and am currently surrounded my maps of Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. These are all of the places we will be visiting....
Some places we are just stopping for an overnight, some places for fourteen nights at a shot. Unless we hate it when we get there!! One never knows....sometimes the websites just make it look SOOOOO much better than it actually IS. And of course, we are travelling with THREE dogs...two little and the Big Guy. Many insurance companies do not allow more than two dogs. And the Big Guy doesn't get around very good anymore, so we cannot be very far away from the "walking spot".
Oh.....I am so looking forward to beaches and sun and sand and birds. I don't even care if I have to cook in a kitchen the size of a thimble. It's somewhere away. We haven't been away since 2003! I know there are many people who don't go away very much and I shouldn't complain as I have been quite fortunate to be able to spend summers at the cottage every year for the past ten years.
But to actually leave the state. For an extended period of time. Sounds pretty damn good to me!! I am very excited and am currently stocking up on all kinds of items to pack the RV with. I don't know where we are going to put everything, but I'm gettin' pretty creative with little storage things!
Wireless is going to cost a fortune!! Some places are actually getting TEN DOLLARS PER NIGHT!!! Gotta figure something out there....I can't be without my laptop, but we're already paying for broadband at the house and the cottage. Not sure what other options there are. I've been thinking about one of the Broadband cards offered by Sprint. Maybe.
Any ideas???

Life Really is a CROCK!

So, I have a love affair with my crock pot. Use the freakin' thing all the time! I stumbled across this website of a person who REALLY loves her crockpot....she pledges 365 days of using hers! I admit I do not use my crock pot every day. Not even every week. But you can do lots of creative things with one! Check this out
Talk about amazing!!! She's even famous!
The crock pot is particularly useful while camping! Will work out great in the RV. I am currently on a search for a new one...

I'm Around!!!
I'm still around although I have had absolutely NO time to even read blogs, much less blog on my own. So, I have much catching up to do and will have to backpost many a post to try to make up my commitment to Blog365!!
More people are taking up camping due to today's high cost of living...this place is not far from the cottage!
For the full scoop...check out their website!

A Bermudabluez Investigation:
This particular investigation will require the help of you....my readers!! I am beginning a list of road trips. Any road trip. No real guidelines here folks.
Tell me where your favorite places are. They can be out-of-the-way places, or they can be famous places....big or small, urban or rural. Doesn't matter!! My stepson asked me today when he came over to scope out the RV, if I have decided on where we'll be going. Well, I know that one trip we have planned is to Minneapolis....next Christmas. But in between now and then...we have to take some small trips. Yes, Sedona is on the top of my list. But. We have to start with baby steps....like a hundred miles on the first trip...then 200....and so on.
A few ideas I have already:
In NO particular order!
*Sedona, AZ
*Santa Fe, NM
*Taos, NM (hmmmmmmm.....do you sense a pattern here????? - I LOVE the West!!!)
*Denver, CO
*Sanibel & Marco Island, FL
*Key West / Key Largo, FL
*Northern Florida to visit friends
*Palm Desert, CA to visit my friend
*Tennessee...visiting Bichon friends!
*NYC - to rendezvous with coffeebarchick!
*Edmonton, Alberta, CA - to join the blogging crew of ASpotofT, Colours of Dawn, and Sirdar for Coffee!! (and Chloe would REALLY love to join Mushu at the Dog Park!! In fact I might just kidnap the little guy for awhile!!)
*San Antonio - so Kellan and I can enjoy lunch!
*Wisconsin - so Lisa and I can share an art class!!
Oh, and I think I'd like to go back to New Orleans. I haven't been there post-Katrina and I imagine it is quite different. Let me know what ideas you all might have!! We need all the help we can get!!
Although...I'm pretty sure it's going to take about six months just to get through the owner's manual. NO WAY am I taking this thing out on the road without my husband...I couldn't even maneuver the McDonald's Drive-Through without takin' off a piece of the roof!!
And just for fun:
McDonald's RAP!!!!

Today's Subject: RV's!!
We've been toying with the idea for quite some time now on whether or not we wanted to purchase an RV. First, we thought we'd sell our house and purchase one of those really nice, huge RV's...the bus size one. Hell, if I'm going to sell my entire house, I'm going to need a place to put all my stuff. And it sure won't fit in my 1200 square foot cottage. Well, then we talked, and talked, and discussed some more. Came to the conclusion that we can't sell this house. We have too much stuff. My husband likes to play with cars. He needs the garage. Me....I need my studio. Can't do without that stuff. And we have to keep the cottage. I heart my cottage.
So, off we went to yet another RV Show that just happened to be in town. I don't know if I have any readers who are full time or part time RV'ers?????
I am NOT a camper. I do not like campsites. This RV must be self-contained. Able to park in the freakin-middle of the desert and be totally self-sufficient. BIG Generator. Big Water Tank. Big Waste Tank.
Honestly, we plan to use it for short trips....a week here or a week there. A drive to Minneapolis. Perhaps Cape Cod. I'd like to consider Santa Fe or Sedona. You see. We have a bichon frise. Chloe would not do well being "babysat" or boarded either for that matter. She must come with us! That's another reason for the RV. Years ago, we used to do ALOT of travelling. And we sure can't take the RV to Bermuda! But for short trips just to get away. Sure. It'll be fun. I'm not drivin' the thing. My husband will be doing the driving. Sometimes I have trouble with my Jeep. Seriously. That's big enough for me!!
So check out the pics and let me know what ya think! Pros / Cons?? I'm not that pleased with the color scheme. They don't make any cool colored RV's. We have seen one we really like. But it was more than a half a million dollars. Husband said...uh, no. But it was SO nice!!! I really liked it. You can see one like it here:
This is more in the price range we are looking at....realistically...
Crap! I should have at least showed the smaller one first....now the bottom one...is such a letdown...
