It's an Award!

We are most appreciative to receive the Liebster Award from our friends over at Brown Dog! Thank you so much!! We would like to pass this award on to our friends....it is SO difficult to choose as we love each and every single on of our blogger friends!! In the spirit of the awards, I will pass this along and hope that these friends will continue spreading the love!

The simple rules of this award are:

1. Copy and paste the award on our blog.
2. Link back to the blogger who gave us the award.
3. Pick our five favorite blogs, with less than 200 followers and leave a comment on their blog to let them know they have received the award.
4. Hope that the five blogs chosen will keep spreading the love and pass it on to five more blogs.

Congratulations to:

Just Ramblin'

Dog Eared

Dory's Backyard

Ina in Alaska

Teddy's Tales

We enjoy each and every single one of our blog friends and look forward to hearing all about the trials and tribulations of every day life!

Wrapping up the Weekend

We are still watching LadyBug closely as she is still clearly not back to her normal self. She is still being picked up to go up and down stairs. She is being carried when she has to go outside. As much as she wants to run and play...we just cannot let her do that. Every single time she even tries to play....just a little...she starts not using the leg again.

She's still on the metacam once per day and I am trying the heating pad. My friend suggested a heated, vibrating foot bath. I haven't yet tried that because even with the heating pad...she doesn't seem quite comfortable. She is still a little bit skittish about "strange" things. So...I am trying to massage by hand and make sure she stays ON the bed at night. The biggest challenge is that she loves to follow me everywhere, so I am having to stay PUT more than I'd like to...in other words...laundry is piling up...things that should be getting done...aren't.

LadyBug's health is more important to me...so we will stay huddled close while she is recuperating.

Tonight we enjoyed the Golden Globes Awards on tv in front of the fireplace...both her and Chloe love that!

Hope you had a great weekend!! It is eight degrees right now...quite frigid!!

Academy Awards: My Best Dressed List

I was NOT impressed with James Franco as co-host of the Academy Awards.  Anne Hathaway would have been better by herself!!  He really dragged her down.

Actually I'm thinking Sandra Bullock and Anne Hathaway would have been pretty good together!!

As far as best dressed goes...

I had several favorites...I loved the many different gowns that Anne Hathaway wore.  Helen Mirren is always extremely fashionable!!  Loved Reese Witherspoon...she really looked good!  Halle Berry and Natalie Portman...very nice!  Gwyneth Paltrow looked fabulous!

I really loved Sandra Bullock....take THAT Jesse James!!

She is fabulous!

The girlz were decked out in their couture wear...purple mink!!

All in all .... we had an enjoyable time munching snacks in front of the fireplace...and checking out the fashion...just weren't all that impressed with the hosting of the show!

I am a die-hard awards show addict though...so I will watch next year anyway!

Keeping it Real Award

Well, this just made my day!! My bestest blog buddy, Joy, from A Spot of T presented me with this lovely trinket! And I love her for this...thank you sooooooo much!! That's us...LaVerne and Shirley, Gin & Tonic, Rum and Coke...you get the picture! And yeah, Mushu is the second most beautiful bichon EVAH!! After my cute little Chloe Bug!

Joy's Tribute:
A Spot of T: "For Keeping It Real:
My blog buddy Jeanne from Bermudabluez gets this one. If I lived near Jeanne? I would stalk her. Without a doubt I would stalk her. THAT'S how cool I think this woman is. I don't get this feeling about many people...because...I'm anti-social like that....but I have this feeling in the pit of my stomach that the two of us would hit it off like peas and carrots, corn on the cob and butter, rootbeer and ice cream if we ever met. Anyone else hungry all of a sudden? Jeanne keeps it real, has the cutest Bichon ever, next to my Mushu of course, and it's been a thrill getting to know her through her blog."

Personal Editorial on the CMA's

This is my take on the Country Music Awards televised last night. I'm beginning to think the thing is fixed. Not that I don't like some of the winners, but there really should be a law against the same person winning ALL the time. I think Kenny Chesney has won about three years in a row!

And I thought I liked Carrie Underwood. Well, I used to like her. I watched the interview they did on CMT just before the show on CMT. I think all of the awards have gone to her head. It almost seemed like she was too good for the interviewer. It appeared to me that she was not even surprised that she won...almost like she expected it! That's not good. So, she's Female Whatever of the Year AGAIN! The thing that comes to mind is...you know....Barbie, the bitch who has everything!!

Really enjoyed the duet that LeAnn Rhimes did with Reba McIntyre. Their voices just blended perfectly together!

And the performers ROCKED....I know it's the country awards, but seriously they were just fabulous!!! I was really hoping Keith Urban would win. I think he's worked really hard since he's out of rehab. At least he admitted he had a problem and actually DID something about it! He didn't win, but seemed genuine when he was congratulating the other winners. And, oh by the way, his latest CD is really good!

Now, Rodney Atkins may seem a bit strange to some people, but personally, I like the guy! He's just as down to earth as one can get...we saw him perform live a couple of months ago and I swear he was wearing the very same John Deere hat at the performance that night as he was at the awards! He's a fun dude!!

The performance by Big & Rich was....as always.....pretty explosive! Saw them live last year when they opened for Tim McGraw. They do know how to party hardy!!

I adore Martina McBride and truly believe she deserved the award more than Carrie Underwood. Seniority should mean something!! I have seen her twice and she is just the sweetest person. You could actually sit down and have a cup of coffee with her and talk about the weather. Or what colors are in for the season. Or pretty much anything normal women talk about!! She has no airs. NONE.

I must discuss Brad Paisley and his wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley (from According to Jim fame). They are too cute for words. Seem like really down home folk. But, I think she's lost WAY too much weight and appears to be a touch anorexic. But, I believe he deserved his award. I have no idea why they asked Kimberly to host part of the show....maybe just because she's on ABC????? Don't know.

Oh, and Kate Walsh (you know.....Addison from Grey's Anatomy! Now Private Practice)....she too was hosting...absolutely NO IDEA why, but I like her and maybe they thought she should get some airtime to promote her show??? She did a great job though....she's cute and funny!!

Taylor Swift did a superb job performing...she's ONLY 17 years old...hasn't even graduated from high school yet!!! And she was SO excited to win the Horizon Award for new artists....it was heart-warming to watch!

Sugarland finally broke the Brooks and Dunn EVERY YEAR Award and I couldn't have been more pleased for them....they were really, really grateful and it showed!

I have not yet had a chance to see the movie about Ray Charles....the movie, "Ray" that Jamie Foxx played in. This man has THE most incredible voice! Can't believe he just learned to sing for that movie....he performed with Rascal Flatts and he was just GREAT!

Last, but certainly not least, is Kellie Pickler. Well, Kellie is kind of a newcomer...hasn't been on the scene too long. She is just 21 years old. Same age as my daughter. When she performed this brilliant song, it was just awesome...she was absolutely passionate about this music! I even turned and asked my husband....ummm, is she crying????? Couldn't believe she actually broke down and cried WHILE PERFORMING her song at the CMA's. I couldn't figure it out. After the awards were over, I googled her and lo and behold, the song was a TRUE story about how her mother had left her when she was a baby. I watched an entire interview she did and they also interviewed her mother, but the two of them did not speak. It's very sad, really. I wish her the best in life and hope she goes far.

Missing from this star-studded event was my personal favorite couple of country....Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. They are still the very best in my book...their Soul-to-Soul tours...both of them....were the BEST concerts I have ever seen. And I have seen many through the years.

Yikes, this turned in to a very, very long post!! Too bad I don't get paid for this!! If I could just get paid per word. My husband is always telling me I talk too much...

Paying it Forward

I was so proud to receive this award from The Nap Warden and I am doing my job by paying it forward to Kellan at On The Upside. Kellan does such a terrific job of making everyone think positive thoughts. Her posts are very well written and thoughtful. And, they bring a smile to my face. Well deserved award, Kellan!! Enjoy!
