Honor Your Dog with Steadfast Friends!
Chloe and LadyBug are joining me today to talk about Chalkboard Dogs!!
We would like to show you our brand new Chalkboard Dogs Repositionable Canine Silhouette made by Steadfast Friends. You can find their website at http://www.steadfastfriends.com
I have included pictures of the chalkboard to try to give you an idea of the size..it is MUCH bigger than I originally thought it would be! I thought it would fit on the refrigerator door...but mine is a double door so the door is too narrow.
You can pick out your breed from the website and they even sell the chalk ink pens on their site!
A few words about the Chalk Ink...
Chalk Ink is the best choice for use with the ChalkboardDogs! These wet wipe markers are much easier and cleaner than chalk. Lettering and drawings are more precise and the colors certainly pop against the chalkboard background. Plus, there is less smudging to deal with than chalk.
The chalk inks are offered in three color assortments of 4 markers (Classic, Fluorescent and Earthy)
Classic Set includes Chalk White, Clown Nose Red, Smiley Face Yellow and Pacific Blue
Fluorescent Set includes Pink Lemonade, Lightning Gree, Laser Beam Blue and Firefly Yellow
Earthy Set includes Cayenne, Dijon Mustard, Grape Jelly and Green Tea
Features:
6mm Chisel tip
Waterbased, odorless markers
Pigment ink
Opaque colors
Acid free
Non-bleeding
Xylene-free
Simply shake, push and write! Clean-up is simple with a damp cloth.
I found the Chalk Ink Markers to be perfect for use on the Chalkboard Dogs Board!
There are many different breeds available for the chalkboards...they have many different products available and quite an assortment of dog breeds for you to choose from. The directions on the paper that came with the board state, "To apply, simply remove the silhouette from the poly sleeve and peel off the white backing. The image might have a bit of a curl from packing but that will not prevent a smooth application. Carefully apply the silhouette to a clean, dry, flat surface taking care to ensure that any small bubbles or folds are flattened." In order to do this...both my husband and I put this up together on the door. You must do it S L O W L Y so as to ensure your chalkboard is bubble-free!!
I find it useful that they are repositionable as we will use it when we go to the cottage....we can bring it with us! The packaging that the board came in was perfect protection...it was one of those large mailer tubes. We are happy with our Chalkboard Dogs Board and hope you will take a look at them on the website!!
I find this to be a great company and they are so compassionate and caring about giving back...Steadfast Friends is a family-owned and -operated business and they even receive a little assistance from their three dogs, Piper (a lab), Dillon (a Golden Retriever) and Henry (a German Shorthair Pointer). Their product inventory is currently expanding and they can’t wait to get the word out to show off their newest additions! PLEASE NOTE their Corporate Giving policy ... They donate 10% from all online retail sales to your favorite canine-driven charities. They feel it is so important to give back and hope their customers will enjoy giving to a worthy cause upon checkout.
If I could offer one suggestion, I would say that a smaller version of the chalkboard would be nice for little notes on the refrigerator door!!
The world needs more companies like SteadfastFriends!!

Saturday Pet Blog Hop
Food poisoning has surfaced in our house again so this time our dad is not feeling well...we have been trying to help him relax and just lie around and get better.
Sheesh...what is going on?? Mama had the very same thing a couple of weeks ago. We really do think that it is from the pizza place that we recently started ordering from, but we can't prove anything!!

POTP Requested Please
If you can, please send healing vibes, energy and prayers our way. Miss Chloe has injured her spine...she is on Metacam and rest, rest, rest. I am carrying her out to go to the bathroom and right back inside. Her grooming appointment for tomorrow had to be cancelled as she cannot stand up.
We sure are hoping she will feel better as we all feel so bad when the little ones are hurting.

Holidays & Pets: The Perfect Match?? NOT.
With the holiday season upon us, many pet parents are planning to gather friends and family for fun festive parties. Keep in mind that although you might be ready to ‘Deck the Halls’, your four-legged friend may not be. Jingle Bells, Figgy Pudding and Tannenbaum create the perfect recipe for misbehavior. The family pooch probably isn’t accustomed to lots of guests and merriment so they might be tempted to act out, if you’re not prepared. So, if you’re stressing about how to manage Fido so he doesn’t steal from the table, raid the trash, beg, jump, and whine, then ‘Rest, Ye Merry Gentlemen (and Ladies)’; Santa isn’t the only one with a list this year.
Check out the following simple ways to help ensure your dog is on his best behavior and is the pawfect host this holiday season.
- Tire Him Out
A tired dog is a good dog. In all the preparation for your holiday party, it’s easy to forget how important it is to exercise your dog. Remember, a bored and restless pooch can get ‘bad to the bone’. Make it a high priority to take your dog out for a long walk or run him around in the yard. With all the preparation and attention to detail you’re doing to make your party perfect, having a wound up dog with pent up energy could mess up the whole works. The day of your party (before the guests arrive) exercise your dog so he can get it all out of his system. Dogs that are taken for regular walks, runs or hikes won’t need to release pent-up energy by chewing, begging or barking. This means he’ll be better behaved and more relaxed, so you can be, too. - Keep Him Occupied
Be sure that you have an ample supply of your dogs’ favorite toys, treats, or bones – that you KNOW will keep him busy. Toys that stimulate your dog mentally will not only keep him occupied but the mental stimulation will help tire him out. If your dog is a Kong lover, try stuffing a Kong or two with peanut butter and them putting in the freezer – this will keep your pooch busy for a while! Food dispensing toys are also excellent options. - Practice Good Behaviors
It’s never too late to reinforce and practice good behaviors. Start your dog on a refresher course of the basic commands (sit, lay down, stay, wait, leave it, etc.) today! As always, make sure you have high reward treats on hand. Also, be prepared on the day of your party or gathering with a good supply of those high reward treats so that you can continue to reward your dog for his good behavior. - Have a Back-Up Plan
Even the most well behaved dogs can forget their manners with all of the excitement and distractions of holiday festivities so it’s important to have a plan B. If your pooch just can’t curb his enthusiasm, place him in his crate, behind a baby gate, or perhaps on a tether. If you do have to separate your pooch, give him something really special to keep him occupied. If your dog normally gets hard biscuits in a Kong, stuffing it instead with a mixture of high-quality dog food and some mashed sweet potatoes will be especially exciting. - Assign Doggie Duty
In the hustle and bustle of the holiday, it’s important that your pooch is attended to appropriately. Recruit and assign a family member or friend to help you keep on eye on your little four-legged host. They can help keep him in line, curtail any overly generous food-giving guests, and take your dog out for potty breaks and little walks.
Thanks to TWP for this informative description!!

Help Wanted...
My house is in a total state of disarray right now. I am feeling totally overwhelmed and don't know where to turn!!
I am in the midst of decorating the inside...fortunately the outside is done!!
Miss Chloe is offering a very welcoming paw...as you can tell!! Does she look like she is Sleeping On The Job??????
So...the trees are looking a bit bare right now...still have to put some decorations on!!
Lots and lots of dishwashing!! But at least the end is near!! Then I can put everything back on the shelves!!
I am in the process of writing Christmas cards...some are done...my pet blog ones are in process and will be mailed within a couple of days!
See?? Everywhere I turn....another tree needs decorating!
Definitely could use a little help here...by the time I get it all done, it will be time to take it all down again!!
Happy Monday!!

Let's Talk About Snoozer Scalloped Dog Ramp!!
Snoozer Pet Products have long been a favorite of mine!! Eight years ago when Chloe first came to live with us...I was facing a huge learning curve!! I had always had BIG dogs...German Shepherds, Labs, and a Newf Mix. I had to learn all about SMALL dogs and all of the trials and tribulations that one goes through with this three pound furry little fluff. In research mode, I discovered all kinds of information about items I had never thought about before. One of those items was a Snoozer LookOut Seat. I quickly ordered one of those and it was shipped almost immediately!! The car seat was delivered in just a couple of days and became a favorite place for Chloe to sleep from the moment I took it out of the box. When LadyBug came along a couple of years ago, I followed the very same process and we now have two of the Snoozer LookOut seats occupying the back seat of my Honda. The seats fit perfectly and the girls just love them!!
The girls are now seven and eight years old and beginning to show a little bit of age-related mobility issues. I recently discovered that Snoozer also carries pet stairs and ramps. Now, most of you who have been reading my blog for awhile ... know that I have steps specifically for the girls EVERYWHERE in my home! I have steps in the bedroom going up to the bed. I have steps in the living room going up to the couch. I have steps in my office leading up their favorite loveseat. And last but not least, even a set in the RV that allows the girls' freedom to race back and forth up and down from the bed. I also have a telescoping ramp that we used for Zippo (our newf mix) when he was struggling with terrible arthritis in his back legs, he could not do stairs. The ramp is now used out on the front porch as we have three steep steps leading to our front porch...the girls use the ramp with no problem at all.
LadyBug has had spinal problems in the past and Chloe has had issues with luxating patellas and a torn ACL so we have had to take major precautions and many times we carry the girls up and down the steeper sets of stairs. Snoozer Pet Products offered us an opportunity to try out their Scalloped Dog Ramp and we have been so pleased with how the girls have adapted to using it. It is much more attractive than any of the other steps that we have in the house...more attractive than any I have even seen on the market anywhere!! We chose the Black Vinyl version because we felt it would hold up better than fabric...for us anyway...especially when we take them to the cottage and there is a lot more moisture there! The ramp is also available with a machine washable micro-suede cover which is available in a wide variety of colors to complement any decor. The Snoozer Scalloped Pet Ramp is perfect for any dog or cat who needs a bit of help getting up onto the furniture!! The ramp itself is extremely lightweight because it is built with high density foam and has a wide 21 inch base that gives it awesome stability!! The construction of the ramp also makes it easily maneuverable...read PORTABLE!! It's really easy to move it around!! This ramp comes in three different sizes and accommodates pets up to 100 pounds.
The small measures: 14 in. H x 21 in. W x 20 in. D
The medium measures: 17.5 in. H x 21 in. W x 25 in. D
The large measures: 21 in. H x 21 in. W x 30 in. D
Let me just tell you, we are SO thrilled with the quality and customer satisfaction of Snoozer Pet Products, we honestly cannot say enough good things about them. I did a lot of research on their products prior to purchasing my very first product and they have NEVER disappointed me!!
