25 Random Things About Me

I was challenged by a Facebook friend to write 25 random things about myself.

So ....

Here goes...

1. Had to into quit smoking for medical reasons...and haven't had a cigarette in 15 years!

2. I still miss it! The craving never goes away!!

3. I love solitude and enjoy being at my cottage by myself (with my dogs)...

4. My best friends are my dogs.

5. I cannot look at a horse's eye. They scare me.

6. Bichons changed my life and I have met many of my friends because of that!

7. My most favorite vacation spot in the world is Bermuda.

8. Shopping is something I totally enjoy....if only I could figure out a way to do it for a living!

9. I was the calmest bride you've ever met...wasn't the least bit nervous on my wedding day even though we had a large wedding.

10. The marriage didn't last (past ten years) but my brother said it was the best party he'd ever been to!!

11. Public speaking is not something I will ever do.

12. I never go to sleep before 3 or 4am and do not get up til noon. I enjoy living my life on second shift!

13. Birthdays are a REALLY big deal to me!! CELEBRATE them!!

14. I think if I had to pick one food to live on, it would be rice. Or chocolate.

15. Music relaxes me and I prefer to have music on at all times!

16. My favorite holiday is Christmas and it takes me months to prepare for it...

17. Expressing creativity is extremely important to me and I feel lost if I don't!

18. Reading is an important part of my life and something I must do each and every single day.

19. Last year we spent alot of time on the road traveling in our RV...which was heaven!!

20. My husband and I were coworkers and dated for a year before anyone knew.

21. I prefer being inside...rather than outside. Primarily due to severe asthma and allergies.

22. The water draws me in...whether it be lake or ocean...just something about being Coastal!! If I can just SEE it from my window, I'm good!!

23. Bright colors totally inspire me!!

24. My idea of a perfect day....riding my scooter down A1A in Palm Coast, Florida with the wind whipping through my hair...on my way to the Java Joint!

25. I could not live without my coffee, my laptop, and my bichons!!

I'll Spare You The Details

You wouldn't have wanted to go through what I did for the last couple of days. I will not be eating at McDonald's anytime soon.

I was supposed to be celebrating my 15th wedding anniversary Saturday night at
Tin Pan Galley...as most of you know is my very favorite restaurant. Had to cancel the reservations. Drove back home from the cottage tonight and will be headed back up there on Wednesday to celebrate the Memorial Day Weekend. We will also be celebrating our anniversary....a little later than planned.

Meme of Firsts

1. Who was your FIRST prom date? My first love....R.

2. Do you still talk to your FIRST love?....Occasionally.

3. What was your FIRST alcoholic drink? .....vodka and kool aid (YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!)

4. What was your FIRST job? ........ Babysitting. First paid job....Working for the Parks & Rec Department in our small town. OMG What a fun job! I cut grass in the cemetary, painted tennis court poles, drove a dump truck, worked in the pool concession stand, tended the rose garden....ahhh the joys of life!!

5. What was your FIRST car? .......A very beat up old Toyota Corolla that I swear ran on prayers and went FOREVER!!!

6. Who was the FIRST person to text you today? ......... none today!

7. Who was the FIRST person I thought of this morning? ....Chloe to see if she had to go out!!

8. Who was your FIRST grade teacher? ...... Miss White

9. Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane? ..... Took my then two year old daughter on a trip to Cape Cod by myself. That was SOME trip...wonderful in some ways, but they lost my luggage which was not fun. Got it back the day before we were coming home. Lots of trips to Walmart!! It was just the beginning of my divorce so I really needed to get away and we sure made the best of it!!

10. Who was your FIRST best friend and are you still friends with them? ..... Lori...and yes, we are still in touch occasionally, but she's moved all over the United States and we have gone a couple of years in between talking to each other. We rarely communicate anymore which is rather sad.

11. What was your FIRST sport played? ...... Never into sports. Ever.

12. Where was your FIRST sleep over? .......Missy Taylor's house in middle school. I just remember being terrified as all the rest of those girls were really good friends.

13. Who was the FIRST person you talked to today? ......My husband

14. Whose wedding were you in the FIRST time? ......My sister's.

15. What was the FIRST thing you did this morning? .......Push the button on the coffee pot to make coffee. Then turned on the computer.

16. What was the FIRST concert you ever went to? .... I went to so many back then....Renaissance, Kansas, Styxx, Beach Boys, Eagles, Chicago, Genesis and many, many more!!

17. FIRST tattoo or piercing?
Got my ears pierced when I was 13, second holes when I was about 15. No Tattoos EVER.

18. FIRST foreign country you went to? ...... Canada, then Mexico, Bahamas, Bermuda

19. What was your FIRST run in with the law? ...First Husband and I were going camping with another couple. Started partying in the car. Husband decided it would be fun to pick up one of those road flares and toss it in my car...good lighting for the campsite. Not so much. He got arrested for petit larceny by a Department of Environmental Conservation Officer as it was a DEER CHECK station. Got fingerprinted, mugshots, the whole nine yards. Had to hire an attorney. We were like 20 years old. It was a scary time. Couldn't tell our parents. But, the lawyer got it down to an ACD and he was on probation for ten years. Fortunately, I was not arrested.

20. When was your FIRST detention? .......I had WAY too many of those!!

21. What was the FIRST state you lived in? ...... Massachusetts, then NJ, Ohio, NY

22. Who was the FIRST person to break your heart? ......That would be the same guy who was my first love, R.

23. Who was your FIRST roommate? ... Believe it or not, my first husband, Matt.

24. Where did you go on your FIRST limo ride? .... From Kennedy Airport to the Plaza Hotel in New York City...on a business trip. What a GREAT trip that was!!! Actually it was the the day before the World Trade Center was bombed the first time.

1. Do you eat out or at home more often? We eat out 2 or 3 nights a week...4-5 in the summer.

5. Have you ever gotten stitches? Several times

6. Have you ever been in an ambulance? Yes, when my father ran me over with the lawn tractor when I was eight years old. My leg was broken in several places.

9. Do you know how to drive a stick shift? Are you kidding....NO way!!
