Sometimes...
Saturday's need to be JUST for relaxing...
Here's a few pics of us doing that...
R E L A X I N G!!
Dreams are renewable. No matter what our age or condition, there are still untapped possibilities within us and new beauty waiting to be born.
Dale E. Turner
We hope that wherever you are...
You spend a little bit of time doing nothing but relaxing.
We are not sure exactly what mama means by this, but she says that if she doesn't do some of that "relaxing" thing this weekend, then she might have what is called a breakdown????
Happy Saturday!

Nothing Reliable
Car shopping is not fun. Not at all. Too many car issues...we don't have anything reliable to drive right now. With the exception of my scooter!! We do not have a reliable vehicle. They are all more than ten years old right now. Oh...except for the RV. But it wouldn't exactly be practical to drive THAT around town...not at 8 miles per gallon!
Although....the girlz would love it!!
I have attached a Quick Video I sent my daughter. As you can tell ... it was WINDY!!!
I sure wish I was there right now.

Floridian Hike
As most of you know, I am not very tolerant of heat and humidity. This would be the reason we go south during the March / April timeframe. We usually beat the real hot humid weather.
Not true this year!! It was HOT. It was HUMID!! Especially on this particular day when we decided to venture to the Gamble Rogers Recreation Area. I can assure you that the aforementioned hike did not last very long!! Before I passed out, we had to book for the Air Conditioned Car.
My husband needs a new hiking partner!!
The girlz are not tolerant of these conditions either!!
We were not camping at this park, we just happened upon it while cruising down A1A on Easter Sunday and decided to check it out. During the part of the video where Ben looks like he is walking rather "funny" he was pretending the avoid the snakes!

Changin' It Up a Bit!
I have had a couple of people ask me if I have changed my blog...well...
Every now and then I like to change things up a bit...
Keeps everybody on their toes!
Don't like to see the same old stuff all the time...
I am so very sick of cold and snow and ice and dark dreary weather....I could SCREAM!!
So...I am looking forward to Palm Trees and Sunshine and Beaches!!
The original name of my blog was BERMUDABLUEZ...I changed it to BICHONPAWZ after awhile...no real reason.
So I have gone back to my roots...
For now!
Enjoy!!

Inspiration for the Day
I’d gone through life believing in the strength and competence of others; never in my own. Now, dazzled, I discovered that my capacities were real. It was like finding a fortune in the lining of an old coat.

Oh Yeah....Williston, Florida!
These are just some random shots that I took while riding my scooter around the park in Williston, Florida....which is located by Ocala and Gainesville. This was truly the best of the best when it comes to beautiful parks!! They are under construction still, but when it is completed it will be really something! They aren't even done yet, and it already is quite the park!! Can't wait to go back....maybe next winter?

Just Beachy!!

Flagler Beach is a true beach town. Located on the Atlantic ocean about halfway between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach. Flagler still has that small beach town feel to it, even though I would imagine it gets rather crowded in the summer. The sand has the most amazing orange color to it because of all the coquina shell fragments. I just found out about the coquina shells today when I asked our waitress at lunch!!
There are a couple of beachy campgrounds right along this stretch of road and we are pleased that the one I picked out has worked out well. We are actually on the opposite side of the road from the beach, but we have larger sites here and it is a little less crowded....better for the dogs. They are getting better about not launching into full out barking when people walk by, but it is better here because I have a much larger area to walk them.
We have discovered a favorite coffee place called the JavaJoint and we have eaten there a couple of times already. We do not have a tow vehicle with us so we are limited in where we can go. Ben brought his mountain bike and I am riding my scooter. It is working out well as the restaurant is less than a mile away. I have also found that my scooter is good for....driving back and forth to the laundry facility...which I did last night with a load in my backpack! Amazing how resourceful we can get when we have to!! Backpack was just large enough for one load. I also used the scooter to grocery shop while we were in Jacksonville...that was an adventure! I filled up underneath the seat, the backpack, AND another shoulder bag that I had. Good thing the grocery store was a half mile up the road!! Yes, it would be easier to tow a car, but at the moment we do not have a towable vehicle and will be looking into that in the future.
We are renting a car for several days to do some exploring around here. I had to find a nail salon for heaven's sake...I'm going nuts!! So, tomorrow it is off to Super Target for some shopping, getting my nails done....and a little bit of sightseeing!!
Oh, I probably should mention the faceplant I managed today at the Java Joint. Ben went on ahead of me up the stairs to get an oceanfront table and it took me a bit to find a spot to park the scooter as it kept sinking in the sand. So, I finally ended up pulling it up on the sidewalk of a little beach shop under the restaurant. Well, there were three steps leading up to the next level. Apparently, my body thought there were only two and I completely wiped out IN FRONT OF EVERYONE. I could have died of embarrassment. And wouldn't you know I fell on the same damn knee that I hurt a month ago! So, I'm a bit bruised up tonight and assume I will be even more sore tomorrow. Am slightly pissed off at my husband as several of the customers came to my rescue and the waitress was very kind to ask me if I needed ice. He was just pissed that I fell. Unbelievable.
I'll keep y'all updated. Thanks for travelling along with me!!

Heading Further South...

I haven't been doing such a great job at blogging my trip! It is amazing how busy one can get while road-tripping!! We celebrated Easter....our first holiday in the RV...which was nice....and very different from any other Easter! Fortunately the weather cooperated and it was a very pleasant 82 degrees with a slight wind. Much better than the snow that my sister said was occurring at home!
Oh, we could SOOOO get used to this! It IS much easier to clean a smaller space...something I hadn't really thought about before. We have had to learn to keep things put away and organized...otherwise we'd never find anything and the place would look like a dump!!
The dogs are adapting well. Travel days are the most stressful. Mostly due to the fact that LadyBug is like a barnacle with me. She HAS to be with me every single minute....and if she's not she makes it VERY well known!! When we left Myrtle Beach and headed towards Georgia, I had to drive the golf cart back to the rental office while Ben followed in the RV. I had zipped both the girlz into one of their travel crates, then got out, hopped in the cart and was on my way. By the time I returned the cart and walked across the parking lot to the RV...both dogs were out of the crate and peering at me out the window. Ben said they were SCREAMING, WHINING, and pawing to get out...so that didn't work very well. The bark collars have been worn a few times, and they don't like to wear them. As we continue to go from place to place, they have become much more comfortable. We rented a car for a couple of days so we could check out Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach....two of my favorite places on earth. We left the girlz and Zip in the RV with the air on and the tv on...we were not gone more than four hours and they did very well. It IS hard to leave them and one of Ben's biggest complaints on this trip has been....the dogs....always having to worry about them. Yes, we do have to give up some of our freedom, but I personally would not have it any other way. Love me. Love My Dogs. Very Simple. Husband doesn't agree. He would rather just be able to get up and go. My dogs give me so much unconditional love on a daily basis and ask for so little in return. It is truly amazing how many pets we have run across on this trip. We have been in five different resorts since we left a month ago. We have run into VERY few people who do not have at least one dog or cat. It seems that everybody has a pet....of some kind!! Our neighbor at the last one had SIX pets!!! And I even changed my reservations because some resorts do not allow more than two dogs. Not one single park has asked me for any health records on any of the pets. Nor have they counted how many pets I have. Kind of amazing.
Off to stow away things for our travel day tomorrow....hope all's well and hope y'all had a Happy Easter!!

Still Northern Florida...
Still here in Northern Florida enjoying the sun! Weather has been nothing short of perfect! So glad I'm not home where it is snowing...yesterday was painful as I tried so hard to walk around the zoo....Jacksonville has a gorgeous zoo!! I am paying for that trip today with leg elevated and lots of ice! Here's some pics that we took yesterday!
